Post your boost settings (especially if you have a Greddy Profec B spec 2)

Posted

Boost controller all neatly wired up and working. I'm going to be setting the gain and hi/low boost settings this weekend. I've had a look at Legrath's tutorial but wondering what everyone's got theirs set to?

I've had an EBC sat in my cupboard for years but only just got round to installing it. Heaven knows why I hadn't done it sooner! Boost jets are out, doing it the correct way.....although some would argue that a Haltech or Link with boost function would be the correct way.

I don't want to increase performance (yet). That'll be after I fit 740cc injectors and have it rolling roaded on Nistune, so I'll be sticking to 14.5psi (1bar). So shouldn't feel massively different save for maybe a quicker and possibly slightly smoother spoil up.

If anyone has stock turbos, keen to see your settings.

This is tentatively what I'll be setting mine to, it's actually Kirbz old settings which worked well for him for those that know him.

I will have a look. There was many threads about this years ago. Would be an interesting to see everyones though.

Its really just trial and error. Set it at the low setting, test it and up the set accordingly. Gain should be between 10-50% in my experience, too high and the boost will spike, too low and it will fall off at high rpm. Play with the set gain once you're happy with the boost output, it is the bar/psi value that the solenoid will start to open, to reduce lag. So if you have it set at 10 psi then it will spool faster than if it opens from 3psi.

Looks like Kirbz had his set in bar.

Set 54%

Gain 5%

Set Gain 75 (Set to PSi rather than bar.

With these settings the car ran at exactly 14psi with no spikes.

It will vary greatly from car to car though depending on how it's been installed, boost leaks however small, wastegates, turbos etc.

I have stock turbos. Low boost at around 43% which gives me about stock pressure and high setting is 55% I think which is about 0.9 bar.

Gain is 4% but I think I need to experiment with a little higher setting as boost does taper off a bit too much at higher rpms.

Starting pressure is 0.4bar.

On the profec 2
