My spoiler was damaged and I have removed the spoiler only to find there is a large open slot, I have seen the cars without spoilers and imagined it would just be metal when the spoiler was removed. I was shocked to find this opening. I am not sure what to do now, wondered if anyone can help. Thanks

Also wondered whether it is still possible to buy an original spoiler, I do have another spoiler but it doesn't fit, although I was told it was the correct one by the guy I bought the car from, the spoiler came with the car.

Welcome to the Club Andy.

Yes it may be still possible to buy an original '89 spec spoiler - part# J6030-42P28. A number of us have recently done so. You

won't know until you place the order (Nissan's stock control system).

If you do buy the Perspex strip, I would recommend placing the order at your local Nissan dealership and collecting it from there (checking its condition before taking it) as they’re renowned for breaking in transit. If you do get one, handle with care!

Personally, I think the original spoiler looks better.

Thank you for all your help. The new spoiler that came with the car is the same as the one in the photo but there is no way of fixing it. The one that was on the car had bolts And glue fixing it on plus on the bottom edge of the spoiler has Nissan written on one side and twin turbo on the other side which is not on the new spoiler. Can you help with how to fix it on? My car is a 1994 model.

If your replacement '89 spoiler is made from fibreglass then it will need to be fixed to the tailgate using Sikaflex or equivalent.

The black strip, "Nissan" and "Twinturbo" decals are applied after the spoiler has been painted (as was originally done by the factory).
