Hi all,

I get a strange noise when I turn the ignition on. Sounds like I'm pressing the windscreen washer squirt button. It seems to be coming from the back inside of the car.

The noise only lasts a second and is not getting louder or quieter just the same each time.

It happens beofre I start the car (not as I start it). Any ideas what this could be ?

Really. I'm sure it never used to do it. Maybe it did.

Is there anyone that doesn't get this when they turn the ignition on ?

If my cars unused for a while it makes this noise but its ok!

When you undo the filler cap does it give a big hiss?

It should do.

The noise is the fuel pump pressurising the system, if you have no hiss - have a look at the filler cap seal, if your not happy replace it.

Yeah I get the hiss. When I fill the car up. :) that's a good sign then. Thanks

Sounds like its just the fuel pump priming up to me. Mine makes that noise and has done since I've had the car.

Sounds like your have got one of my CD's playing in your car :D :D :D

Well I guess that's the answer then. Fuel pressure regulator or pump. So it's normal. :)

Geese it's hard work trying to find fault in my car LOL. :D
