I Bought my first 300zx, and i am very happy about it.

It is a V6 3.0 Twin Turbo, and i can see my rocket cover gaskets is gone (oil leak), and i was thinking my engine must be a VG30DETT, and i found a some gasket where engine code VD30DETT was Mentioned, and then i thinking, well i just check my vin number, just to be 100 % sure.

My vin number is only 14 digits :/, and i found a vin decode overview, and if it is correct my Car is born with a VG30DE, but i found others mention that they also decoded there cars to be a N/A but it has never been ?

My Vin number is 0RGZ32V00038XX (XX is just fill in)., can some help me decode it, my car should be from Germany.

For the sake of the leaking cover`s it makes no difference be it no turbo or twin turbo as the cam covers that leak (outer one`s) do not have gaskets, they just sit on a bed of silicon sealant, the inner cam covers do have gaskets but again no difference between engines.

Welcome to the 300zx club Morten. Good advice above and hope you get it sorted soon.

The easiest way to tell between an NA and a TT is to count the number of air intake tubes

An NA only has 1 each side whereas a TT has 2 on each side

Can you take photo of your VIN plate and post up here? You can blank out the last two digits for security.

I would expect your VIN to start with JN10RGZ32V00038XX

I have tried that but then it says, my car is from 1997, and it should be from 1991, the svedish license says so.

A picture would help...

What is the model number on the plate? It is unique to each car produced. I am using the Nissan FAST database to

lookup the car's details which includes the build date.

Also, are you sure the V is not a U
