You did us proud yet again JP :thumbup1: Awesome mate.

Yes indeed - a very big thank you again Joel; not just for offering your car for display, but for manning the stand for the duration.....

You and your car are real credit to the club; you did us proud mate!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Great to meet you guys. It was a real surprise to see you there. It has inspired me to sort my Z out after seeing how stunning yours were!

Good to meet you and your family too Steve; hope you enjoyed the show mate!

I was discussing this with the organiser of the Supra club stand, apparently the event organiser for this particular event (Alison is it?) was put in a tricky situation when she was informed late on that the pavilion had been sold on a lease for 25years and that they could no longer use it for this show! It does explain why so many clubs got knocked back and Due to the downscaling of space available I consider us very lucky to get the stand we did. I guess this pattern will continue into the following years unless the can secure more space.

That's it in a nut-shell really.....

We didn't get handed a small stand - we actually were not even in the running this year!! After I heard the news in June that our application was unsuccessful, I remained in contact with Alison a little longer, but sadly she had no good news for us.

And then in September, Alison phoned me, whilst I was on holiday (so I nearly never took the call), to say that they had made a few changes and could now offer us a stand big enough for two cars. Naturally I accepted the offer - I knew we'd be able to field two cars - but I figured that if I had turned it down, it may not do the club any favours in future years. Not to mention that, with the growing interest in modern classic cars and Japanese sports cars, any presence at a major show like this, would continue to raise the profile of both car and club!

So as Gary says, the glass is still half full. We maintained our presence on the world stage - and being there for most of Sunday, I am pleased to say that or stand generated great interest. Not just from Ian Seabrook (of Retro Japanese Magazine) and Nathan Chadwick (Modern Classics); but from potential new members, some of whom already own a Z32, others currently looking - along with a few folk who owned one when they were new, yet still thought of the car with fond memories.

Small stand maybe - but in view of what Craig and Joel achieved in terms of the display, despite having only two cars, it was IMO our best all-round effort to date. And I'd rather we had a small stand, than not been there at all. Onwards and upwards - if you catch my drift....

Which just leaves me to say, a very big 300zx Owners' Club thank-you to Craig, Joel, IanL; and all our members who made the effort to visit us........ Here's to 2018:thumbup:

My phone asked me if I wanted to see a video of my trip to the NEC at the weekend, the results were pretty good. I chopped out some of the unrelated photos but other than that, a pretty cool video! It’s only really our Zeds in the vid as that’s pretty much all I took pics of(!), the Boss Mustang belongs to a very good friend of mine and snuck it’s way into the video!:
