Hi Guys,

I'm normally found over on the 200SX website, but as I'm looking at buying a Zed I thought I'd better join the proper forum!

I've actually owned a Zed before, but when I advertised it for sale in the trader some sly fecker popped round early and nicked it. I decided to save a bit of cash which is why I went for the 2hundy, but I've now given in and am about to import another Zed.

I'm after a TT, swb manual version and have found the following website who will import one for me:

http://www.jap-link.co.uk/japanese_car_import.htm

Has anyone on here had any experience of them, or would reccommend a decent importer.

I've considered doing it myself, but it all sounds like a lot of hassle with no guarantees.

Any advice welcome :)

Cheers,

Neil

Hi Neil,

Welcome. Sorry to hear about your previous Z - some nasty buggers out there!

Anyhow, there's recently been a fairly lengthy discussion on this topic (mainly about the pros and cons of doing it yourself) ...

try here

This should bring up the recent discussion, but if you try "importing" in the search, you should get plenty of material back.

CheerZ,

John.

Get down to Southampton docks to the Japanese import car auctions on a Tuesday or Wednesday every week and take your pick of many Zeds for under 3 grand unregistered. It is no big deal getting them sorted. What you pay includes all the taxes, shipping, v.a.t. etc. There are no garrantees with the cars so you have to have your wits about you! It worked for me.

Cheers for the replies fella's - Southampton docks eh, sounds promising! :)

Yeah but just be careful what you pick up at the docks, cos thats where all the sailors hang out!!!

Lol

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

hi there.....if you are interested i can source you a 300 from japan, imported pleanty myself, just sourced one for jaffa,he will receive his in february.........:)

Sure am....

... and boy am I excited. Jiz300's contact is a nice guy too.

I'll keep you all up to date with how I get on.

I've got to sell the 2hundy first - shouldn't be too tough as she's in mint condition.

Once I've got the money together I'm going to check out the auctions at the docks - if that all looks a bit questionable I'll give you a shout.

I'm after a good nick 91+ manual, swb, TT with T-top roof - any idea on how much I should expect to pay?

How long does it generally take your chap to souce one, buy it and get it shipped to the UK?

if he has one ready to ship over it is just a matter of about 30 days shipping, but then it has to clear customs, and then you have to get it mot'd and registered,so you could say a 2 month turn around..........if you want me to look i can ask him.e mail me for more info if you like.......:)
