Hi I ope some one can shed some light on this, I went out tonight running fine as always, on the way back I lost all turbo pressure if I put my foot down about half way the gauge moves up to 0 any ideas ???

Massive boost leak but you would hear it as boost built up or seized turbo.

Well maybe a cuff has come off or leaking heavy on an intercooler or and this is more common than you think the recirc valves have failed ( only needs one ) and its short cutting the boost back down the turbo, needs a boost leak check, be be aware the recirc would not show up on a boost leak test, or maybe you have bovs and one of those has stuck open.

I had a long look for any air leeks got the wife to rev it up with me under neath (rhe car) found nothing, tookit round the block and it was fine I still need to no what it was so I can fix it ???????????

Finding air / boost leaks can only be done by pressurising the system via the intake, it needs a special bung adapter and a compressor, listening will not find them, way too much noise with the engine running.

 

That said if your suggesting it is working ok again now maybe you were getting detonation for some reason and this was picked up and the boost reduced, this would reset after been switch off though.

 

Still possible to get intermittent problem with air / boost problems from the recirc valves, or and pipes that need tightening up.

Yes I'll go and see apt on Tuesday I believe thay have that sort of equipment, if not I'll see if I can make something to do it. Thanks Jeff I'll let you now how I get on, Steve
