Hooray!!! I've just had the call from Jim to say that my 300zx is ready for collection. It's been with Jim for almost 2 months and I've had good new and bad news along the way (had to charge the aircon 3 times before fixing all the problems). I'll be doing a full write up after I've collected the car but for now I just wanted to vent my excitement on the prospect of getting it back soon.

I'll profile everything when I get the car back. Hoping to pick up on Tuesday. Home been sending loads of pictures as he went through the jobs.:cool2:

Been an absolute faff !! 2 condensors fitted,1st was like a teabag that came supplied with the car as a replacement,2nd was new then found out a faulty throttle or evaporator valve was causing high vacuum on the return back to the compressor which will lead to failure. So heater etc had to come out and bingo !! somebodys been there before !! all unwrapped and bare in there. All the insulation was ripped off from the 2 valves. So swapped it all out.Built back up.Gas dropped in and after many years the AC springs back into life. All this for a "pin hole" Chris was told in the condensor. So Chris the AC is ready just in time for mmmm WINTER :whistling:

Lol. It needed doing and with 3deg now coming from the vent I'm happy it's done. Like I said when I dropped it off to you I wanted it to be a great car and to be a great car it needed to be mechanically sound, that's why I brought it to you.:clap:

Excellent news mate - and whilst it might have been a while, you know that when you leave Jimmer's, your Zed will have a clean bill of health!!

Is yours the purple/flip UK spec, by any chance.....?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yes mate, that's my 300 classing the joint up.

When you next get a chance.... have a look just under your downpipes on the underside just towards the bulkhead on the lefthand side and you will see "Ady waz ear" scrawled in blue pen !!

NAH just kidding mate, I saw it in there when Jim was finishing with mine, the drive back to Cheltenham in mine was awesome (so enjoy your run home) !! The only bit that spoiled it for me was my tyres unfortunately were flatspotted from being sat for 2 years on my drive doing nothing, all new tyres now and smoooooooth as silk. Massive thanks again to professor Jim and his magic bag of spanners :thumbup1:

Lol. I hope the blue pen you used had a flip to it.

Can't wait for the drive home. Now all issues have been fixed I may even push it up to the dizzy heights of 70mph. Driving back from north wales and then to Bristol from Portsmouth with a top speed of 55mph was painfull, but couldn't risk any faster with the issues I thought it might have.

Yeah I didn’t push mine beyond 70mph..... hahahahahah who am I kidding, in my defence I had no idea how fast I was going, I was too busy chasing the white skyline that went past me, so maybe 70 and a half :innocent:
