Look good though - and what is the reasoning behind the little springs.....?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As a complete observational guess. I recon theres a pre cat in the stock ones. The runners are longer on the aftermarkets which iirc changes the power band to a more Top end focused delivery. Your right though, the stock ones are a world away from many other cars, the M6 was a bloody expensive car though I spose. Non M badge V8 models are quite affordable now, but not the same thing as the M.

The same as on many bike systems Richard..they hold a slip joint together (none welded) they can expand and move about without the cracking that thin walled stainless steel can bring :)

Cheers Bri - I might have guessed, but I'd never have expected that the joint would not be solid on such a beast of a car.....!!
