A couple of HICAS advisories on the MOT this year that i want to prepare for in plenty of time for next year, so what are my options and does anyone have the things i need in good condition?

 

Nearside Rear Track rod end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)

Offside Rear Track rod end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)

 

Are these specifics still available as new, or as pattern parts? Or am i looking at decent used versions?

 

i have a lockout bracket to replace the rack, but not the bars that replace the track rods i think, so of no benefit in this instance.

There is always movement in these joints so i wouldnt worry

Double check which ones they are. Both outers and inners are still available. Genuine outers are not too expensive, inners are a little more so. I would NEVER recommend such things as bearings, joints and bushings second hand.

 

If it's the outers that need doing, I'd recommend getting a couple of spare lower brackets and refurbishing them with NISMO bushes and new HICAS joints.

More and more parts are available as pattern parts now as the cars get older and Nissan`s commitment to keep up parts supply gets less, mostly all steering and suspension parts can be sourced as pattern parts, from experience the quality is good too.

Yea ive got a set of the rear tie rods from langdon 4x4 on ebay for £20 ish , good quality too

My passenger side had slight play in the hicas ball joint and Jimmer replaced the inner and outer joints for me the other day. The system shouldn't have play so best to get it fixed up.
