This is Glastonbury where I live. Most know it for the infamous yearly music festival. It is however a very small ancient town in rural Somerset dating back some 6,000 years and is steeped in myth and legend.

We had a visit from Thor last night to our ancient Isle of Avalon and someone snapped these awesome photos of the lightening beating down on Glastonbury Tor.

Nice! We had three hours of torrential rain and lightening storms. The kids were both awake throughout until 4am! At least the grass got a soaking!

We do need the rain! I was glad for it, my grass (which is soon to be ripped out anyway) was/is looking a little parched!

I was supposed to be fishing, I quickly retreated. Sitting on the banks of the Hants Avon is always a treat but lighting and 12ft of dry carbon rod is suicide.

Slept bad to as it was so loud and the animals hate it. Baby slept through till it stopped then kicked off and my alarm went off shortly after. Zombie day today.

Nice - always love stopping by Glastonbury; and the Tor holds great presence, whatever the weather....

The storm was pretty heavy here too last night, sadly, I have no pics though....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Suprised we had no storms here in Folkestone!

But lots of lightening across the channel.
