Hi all. Looking for a set of coilovers. SWB TT 1989, if that makes any difference. Money waiting, pics please. Thank you. Steve

Good luck, they don't cone up very often and usually hold thier money fairly well. I've had a few problems on this road. X2 new spring perches, x4 strut tops and x4 springs later Im out of pocket over a set of new Meisters. You may be luckier.

If your fancy a gamble there's those Chinese ones Edviss fitted, few hundred in the Bay.

At 500 GBP, make sure the Tein ones are complete with the top mount , and that they are supplied fully assembled.

Cool, thank you for that. I have seen some Tein for sale at about £500, any good?

Tien are alright yeah, that's what I have. They do make a fair few options though. If the rings have seized it could get expensive. I take it that's second hand? £500 your not far off new meisters.

New tein mate, not used. Would only buy used from someone off here...would hope that people would be more honest.

Check that all spring perches move freely.

Check spring rates. Many Tein sets have silly high spring rates.

You need 6/4kg for a SWB.

Meister shocks spent some time developing their unit specifcally to suit the SWB 300. A former member was involved in this program.

That is the main reason several of us on here are such strong supporters of their product.

I will do, thank you.

You can get the Meisters cheaper direct as they're a club trader and have a club discount special price. It's worth noting also if you want the 6/4 option that Pete has suggested, that they no longer offer that setup as the default SWB option. You will always receive the 8/6 combination unless you specify that you want otherwise.

Unless you're using the car on the track, I would also recommend the Zeta-S as they use a rubber bush on the top mount, unlike the Zeta-R that has a solid bearing.

This and choice of replacement bushings will directly affect the noise, vibration and harshness of the ride quality, something worth looking into before spending your hard earned and potentially regretting the decision.

Excellent advice, I will give them a call and mention all of what you guys have said and if I can get them cheaper to boot that's even better. BTW Joely, bought both mags with your car in last month....amazing, great write up, great car, total credit to you. Inspirational buddy.

With all advice taken, I have contacted Meister and hopefully they will reply with the perfect set up.

Thank you all for your help, much appreciated and very good as usual.

100% agree Joel

FFS DONT buy the Zeta Rs.

Passengers in mine moan about my Zeta Rs with 6/4kg combi. Wimps really!!

Personally I think its brilliant and a good road/track compromise.

Quite a few members have seen me on track. Im certainly not the fastest Z32 but it does handle really well.

This is what Meister have posted back.... £711 posted.

The ZetaS has been superseded by the ZetaCRD. It has new damper valving and some minor updates to improve the overall package further.

>

> Our standard rates are 8kg front and 6kg rear with dampers valved to those rates. This is based on our research and feedback from customer over the years.

>

> Should you want to change them we cannot guarantee they will be as effective. However we would charge £50 for the change over.

>

> They are currently out of stock but expecting them in about 6 weeks or so. Would you like us to contact you when they arrive?

Thanks for the kind words matey [emoji4]

Don't forget to add on the extended adjusters for the rears so that you can adjust them through the rear trim [emoji41]

ok...not sure what you mean though. Rear ARBs?

Ultimately spring rates are a matter of personal choice.

The problem with high rate springs in the back of a SWB is that the car patters and skips over anything other than a smooth racetrack thus slowing you down and the car feeling generally "nervous"

You are welcome anytime to come to mine and I can take you out so you get the feel for what 6/4kg feels like.

This x1000000 on teins! I used to have a set and the spring rates were horrendously high, it was crash as hell!

Personally would just bite the bullet for a set of meisters on 6/4kg springs.

I have a set of MeisterR Zeta-S, due to health and no money I don't know if I should keep them or sell, my car will not be done this year, I purchased these new but never used for £500 May 2016, they were purchased Dec 2015.

Forgot to ask, do they come with the adjustable spanners etc. Cheers.
