Hello everyone. I am starting to modify bits like the rear lights now. Changing the normal orange and red ones to 99 spec replicas.

Here is one I have recently acquired having a makeover :)

Very nice, but I would prefer to see the same diffused pattern on both, have you considered changing the brake as well to match?

My nitpick with replicas also

Ahhh right. I have managed to find some red adhesive film. I shall use that on these and see how that works out. But I will have a word with Andy. Thanks joel

20170511_224618.jpg So Now I have started on the center panel. Its going to have the outline of the 300zx glow red, the upper clear lenses are going to be red fog lights and the bottom will be reverse lights.

for the red fog lights there will be 3 SMD LED's in each housing... Andy is a main influence on this haha

Finished the light I was doing. I shall look at different red diffusers in the future so they match. There were a couple of scratches and marks which were there when I got it, but still, looks alright... On to the next one

You may want to brighten up the tail light insert with some silver or chrome spray.

The black gunge seating areas for the orange lens just need a touch of tippex on them, just stops a dark area showing through.

Perhaps put a squarish extra diffuser in for where the orange bulb emits.

I have never touched the oe red diffuser, enough work on without messing with something that is perfect.

You are doing ok with the light up 300ZX - just scratch off now what you've put on with some sandpaper carefully on a small block, i always mask around to be safe.

You might find that using 12v red smd's might not be bright enough for a fog.

Keep it up.....enjoying the updates :thumbup1:.

Thanks for the feedback Andy. Much appreciated. The smd are the small ones that need a step down converter... like the ones you use :)

how bright are they? I would love to see a picture so I can compare :D

I sanded the 300zx logo on the rear panel, I have done the wiring for the fog lights... These are just 3 small red LED's that require a step down converter. Just waiting on the converter for the red EL Panel then It can all go back together :D

Don't know why the pictures ended up like that

So I sold all the lights that I did. Very happy with the results. If anyone wants theirs doing I don't mind doing it for them (at a cost of course ) but we are all friends here :)

Well today I received all my lights that I ordered of a certain member who is breaking a zed. I have taken one of the headlights apart and painted the insert black and added a halo ring light to where the normal beam would go. Now just to do the other one :)
