Hi all,

About 6 months ago i bought a second hand race logic traction control system and i am looking to get it installed/install it. The harness appears to be in good condition, with minimal cutting in its removal by the previous owner bar a few wires, and a full write up is available on how to install the unit but the only issue i have is not being 100% sure that the harness is as it should be and with my lack of electrical knowledge i thus would not want to self-install without assurance it is all as it should be and then can follow the guide easily..

Ive tried to find complete wiring diagrams to follow to make sure everything is as should be but cannot find much. Anyone with the unit or who has experience with the unit would be massively appreciated who can help me 1) determine the wiring is all setup ready to go or 2) help me install the unit?

I can offer some cash for your services and cups of teas..

Im located in Wales, a mile away from Cardiff

Rhys

You are quite correct they are different systems. Racelogic sold thousands of RLTCs so there are many advocates. They

are not specific to the Z32, so you can buy a s/h system and fit it to a Z32 (even if it came from a 4 cylinder car) as two

models were made - 4/6 cylinder and 8 cylinder.

The product details are still published on RL's site:

http://racelogic.co.uk/index.php/en/racelogic-products/other-products/racelogic-traction-control

That's good to know. How effective is the system?

Right hand side unless its opposite for US specs?

This!....I wrote it as if I was a looking at the car from the front.

What sort of price do S/H units go for?

I managed to nab mine for about 170. I'm under the impression that was cheap though!

The systems are like hens teeth, those who have them do not generally want to sell them on, this is because they are so effective. That combined with the fact that they are no longer made will only make the units rarer and more expensive.

I have an issue, I am adamant I've installed it correctly but obviously not. So following the instructions from that guide I have successfully wired the unit into injectors, rpm, ignition and ground, the issue is with the abs wiring. I am sure I have wired it correctly but do not get any wheel speeds when in the laptop...

I ran the misfire test to check the injectors cut as they should and they do, I have an rpm reading in the graph that correlates with revs, but no wheel speeds at all even though I'm sure I've wired it up right ☹️

This is my wiring. Each white wire coming from the abs group and spliced into the coloured wires using these screw connectors..

There are 4. Image looks like three but fourth is hiding behind the top one.. any ideas?

Do you have a wiring diagram and the ABS pinout?

I take it the terminal blocks are till you sort out the configuration?

Don't have a wiring diagram went off the wire colours in the guide and they matched, yes temporarily till I get it working and yes plugged back into the housing for testing

Can you photo the other end of the ABS sensor wires you connected to the TC unit. I assume you are

driving the car to get the wheel sensors to signal? Is the ABS warning light on the Dash going off after

starting up?

Fuses all in place and working for the ABS system?

I'm not with it At the moment but this is how it is from previous photos

They follow like this (I have repaired the cut wire to make it complete)

81ffc018cc7691f2971419a52803900d.jpg

The wiring goes as follows Red from connectors > 2 wires (1 black 1 white) > 1 white wire (assumed 1 wire was needed and wires needed extending anyway) > abs sensor wires

All wiring was tested before hand to make sure the wires were good from the connector itself..

One wire connection only per sensor. The black wire from RLTC in the sensor group (arrowed) is earth

shielding, not to be connected to the four sensor (red to start) wires at any point. Is this the case?

That sounds very very plausible!! I would be connecting the live and ground.. will inform you later!! Thanks a lot for your help Andrew. Wouldn't have been able to tackle this without your help

Well I ground that wire but no change. No abs light stays on the dash..

The black wire is a ground wire. Please check that the white wires you are connecting to the ABS plug are in fact

connected individually to the TC red wires and are not connected together/part of the earth shields for each red

wire and in turn connected to the black wire and therefore grounded. I can't see what is going on here:

I have cut that black ground wire and ran a new wire from it to stop that possibility of them still being connected to ground in the wrapping

I can photograph mine at the ecu if you wish.

That would be extremely helpful. Thank you

another thing, are you following the install guide in the racelogic book , or the one on the nissan forum. and are you sure the ecu wiring diagram you are using is 100 percent correct

or if push comes to shove, take a ride to sunny wednesfield and copy my install directly
