I'm back..... with a working series one Consult to play with....

Hi everyone, been away for a while concentrating on family and work for a while as the Z funds ran dry...

I managed to procure an original Nissan Consult unit and have successfully repaired it over the past month or so....

If anyone locally needs to use it then let me know if I can help..... and you can either pop round or I maybe able to come to you....

Getting ready to swap out the faulty auto box, transmission ECU and prop shaft when the weather picks up....

Paint maybe a while off yet.......

Well, initially Russ, things were going well, but unfortunately not for long.

After a promising start, and a much improved feeling of well being, it appears that the surgery has failed.

This is not unheard of however, the success rate is only 80%, approximately.

So, in 3 weeks time, I will have to undergo more internal heart surgery.

In the meantime, they have doubled my medication so as to try and manage the condition.

Bummer.

Hopefully you are fairing better, are you still on the mend?

Hi Dave, You had to be one of that 20%, didn't you..... Just like your Z, just when you think you repaired it, you find something more to repair......

I've got everything crossed for you, hoping you get into the 80% success rate this time.......

I still owe you a drink for your help and support, so hurry up and get better!!!!....

Cheers Russ,

They have said that the odds generally improve for the second opp'.

I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks time.

I look forward to that drink and to meeting you in person, hopefully sometime soon mate.

Had my fingers crossed all day Dave...... can't wait to hear how your now in the 80% club.....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Bit of an update, I'll keep it brief. (possibly.)

After 3 hours in theatre, all appears to have gone well.

Even the postoperative ultrasounds and recovery period went smoothly this time. (no dramas)

Initially, it was thought that the first operation had failed for some reason or another. (not unheard of)

However, during yesterday's initial 3d scan and electrophysiology the results told a different story, apparently all the initial ablations were still in tact.

So they next tested my heart under various conditions, firstly they elevated the heart rate to some ridiculous BPM several times, then lowered it to a virtual a standstill!

Not pleasant at all.

Anyway, as this was all going on without any sedation or general anesthetic, (so as to establish patient feedback), they decided to withdraw the internal catheters etc' thinking nothing more needed to be done.

At this point I had to disagree, as my heart suddenly went into a strong bout of fibrillation. Fortunately they agreed to investigate further, and on doing so found an area on the other side of the heart that was short circuiting. (rarely heard of)

So back in went the ablation tools and off they went again for 5 individual burns around the faulty area, talk about uncomfortable.

Anyway, here I am sitting at home boring you all yet again with my exploits.

Hopefully I will be able to drop my medication after a 3 month check up.

See, I said I would keep it brief.

By the way, thanks everyone for you best wishes etc'

ps Apparently Russ, this now puts me in the 90% success rate club.

So glad to hear all went well Dave, hopefully you can put the whole horrid experience behind you and start to enjoy life again:thumbup1:

Best wishes and a speedy recovery mate:thumbup:

That was good they found the problem, well done good luck.
