UPDATE 26-Jan-17: Gary has managed to secure us a room at the Coventry Transport Museum, which means the club can now host lunch and the AGM in the same way as we did last year, although a different room (currently).

This means that those of us that meet at the pub on Saturday can move straight onto the drink and banter on arrival, and food in the evening, without having to worry about slurring our way through the AGM :)

After much calling round, wrangling of dates, discussing of venues, we have settled on the Annual Club Meet and AGM locations for this year.

 

We will be at Coventry Transport Museum again for the Annual Meet and the AGM.

We all know that it is a great venue, due to its central(ish) location, plenty of space and very family friendly for those not wishing to stand around talking about cars.

 

We will continue to look for and negotiate a change of venue with suitable facilities for 2018, including a local hotel and alternative AGM venue if necessary, but it is very difficult to secure summer dates at many locations.

We have secured the use of the mezzanine floor for the evening meal as a group, like we did last year.

 

Everyone that met here last year for the meal get together enjoyed the experience with good food and banter, i think :)

 

Once again, we will need to provide advance food orders to the restaurant the week before, so will need to capture the names of people who will be attending.

 

 

Club nominated hotel for travellers, just 30 minutes from Coventry in the morning, and right next door to the evening meal!

This is a good priced and good quality hotel, easy to get to and park, and a nice location along with the onsite restaurant.

 

Instead of reserving rooms myself, i will encourage those who want to stay to book rooms yourselves this time, as the block booking did not work out as intended last year.

 

Prices are currently shown as:

Flex : £61 (Amend or Cancel up to 1pm on the day)

Saver: £49 (No amend or refund)

 

These will increase as the hotel fills up, so i would book early if you want the best prices.

You can also book breakfast and evening meal on an all inclusive deal if you want.

 

There are other hotels within the area if you want to compare or stay elsewhere, e.g. Longshoot Inn, Nuneaton

I've booked the room at the hotel and paid for the evening meal and breakfast in the price. So the food arrangements I'm happy to do the communal table.

Hmmmm. Doesn't look like I'll be going to this event, at least not in the Z. The windscreen still hasn't been fitted. There seems to be some sort of delay that National Windscreens can't seem to figure out. It was due for fitment this coming weekend, in fact it was due for fitment 2 weeks ago.

 

It looks like it'll have to be done the following weekend. Then there's the order of an MoT that's now expired. I can't get that until the windscreen is in. So looks like I won't be going I'm afraid. :(

Yeah I'm gutted, I really wanted Coventry to be its first outing. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It'll be a miracle if I do come in it, but I'll come down anyway in the other car.

I'm still coming but no zed and i'll have to book into a Hotel at Tamsworth as the nominated Hotel is now fully booked.

 

Good news is my zed comes out the spray booth today so i can take it home. :)

if i dont provide the menu choices by this weekend, then the restaurant will cancel the group table.

whether you have pre-paid for your meals with the bookings, or plan to pay on the night, the restaurant still want the choices upfront.

but i will need to indicate which ones are pre-paid and which are not, so please let me know in that case.

Ok, all you guys that will be eating at the pub on Saturday night.

 

If we want a big group table, then they will want us to all eat at the same time and provide the menu choices a week beforehand.

This is currently booked for 30 people at 6pm.

 

The alternative is to have separate tables and order/eat as normal.

 

So we have 2-3 weeks to decide what to do, and send me your food orders if we all eat together.
