UPDATE 6-Jul-17: Please find attached the Venue Info details for accessing the museum and their requirements for our using it.

UPDATE 26-Jan-17: Gary has managed to secure us a room at the Coventry Transport Museum, which means the club can now host lunch and the AGM in the same way as we did last year, although a different room (currently).

This means that those of us that meet at the pub on Saturday can move straight onto the drink and banter on arrival, and food in the evening, without having to worry about slurring our way through the AGM :)

---------

After much calling round, wrangling of dates, discussing of venues, we have settled on the Annual Club Meet and AGM locations for this year.

We will be at Coventry Transport Museum again for the Annual Meet and the AGM.

We all know that it is a great venue, due to its central(ish) location, plenty of space and very family friendly for those not wishing to stand around talking about cars.

We will continue to look for and negotiate a change of venue with suitable facilities for 2018, including a local hotel and alternative AGM venue if necessary, but it is very difficult to secure summer dates at many locations.

Club Annual Meet & AGM 2017

The Date : Sunday 16th July 2017

The Venue: Coventry Transport Museum

http://www.transport-museum.com/

Club Social get together and pre-meet Meal

The Date : Saturday 15th July 2017

The Venue: Brewers Fayre, Marina, Hinckley

https://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/pub-restaurant/Leicestershire/Marina-Hinckley.html

We have secured the use of the mezzanine floor for the evening meal as a group, like we did last year.

Everyone that met here last year for the meal get together enjoyed the experience with good food and banter, i think :)

Once again, we will need to provide advance food orders to the restaurant the week before, so will need to capture the names of people who will be attending.

Club nominated hotel for travellers, just 30 minutes from Coventry in the morning, and right next door to the evening meal!

Premier Inn, Hinckley

http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/leicestershire/hinckley/hinckley.html

This is a good priced and good quality hotel, easy to get to and park, and a nice location along with the onsite restaurant.

Instead of reserving rooms myself, i will encourage those who want to stay to book rooms yourselves this time, as the block booking did not work out as intended last year.

Prices are currently shown as:

Flex : £61 (Amend or Cancel up to 1pm on the day)

Saver: £49 (No amend or refund)

These will increase as the hotel fills up, so i would book early if you want the best prices.

You can also book breakfast and evening meal on an all inclusive deal if you want.

There are other hotels within the area if you want to compare or stay elsewhere, e.g. Longshoot Inn, Nuneaton

Please use the separate discussion thread for any issues, queries or clarifications.

Please only register your interest/attendance for the show and include a note if you intend to join the meal Saturday. We will follow up nearer the time with Menu and Orders.

I must've been at the bar again when you took that photo at the meal craig

It was a great day with a nice spread of differently styled Z's from the oem to the highly modded, gave a great show of the diversity among the owners.

I believe I was the one bringing the rain as every time I got a cloth and the polish out if the boot in an attempt to clean up my z, the rain started until I put it away again..

Got there in the end though haha..

Redwine, I'm not sure if I spoke to you or not, but if I did, I am still none the wiser to what you look like which is a shame as I'd like to have put a face to the name..

Nice to meet and see some new faces in the club aswell.

There were some great looking cars there and good to see the progress being made on the cars in the club, great work guys.

What a lovely day yesterday for the Club - great turnout. Thoroughly enjoyed myself seeing all the cars and talking to

fellow members. Won a couple of awards which was very special - thanks to all who voted, it means alot. A big thank

you to the committee for organising the day and AGM.

Yours was one of the more talked about ones tbh. And it looks like it was done with a purpose rather than you simply bolting a load a stuff on for the sake of it like I was saying yesterday. I think then people can therefore appreciate it more for what it is, a real track car. I'm a fan of it and the work you've put in mate.

Great to talk to you yesterday mate.

Here are the voting results showing every vote cast by attendees.

Winners in Green, Runners up in Yellow, and a couple of close results in Blue. Next year Edviss, Gary?

Nice to show where people have gotten votes that may not have expected them too! Gives something to aim towards next time.

Funkysi was a runaway winner for car of the show. No one even came close. Well done mate.:thumbup1:

I am genuinely humbled as I was yesterday. Thank you so much to those that voted.

You deserve it, a seriously beautiful car. Nice to finally put a face to the name.

Seeing these results has definitely given me the push to get the car sorted for next year.. Respray is getting sorted for sure and I think the engine will be pulled for it aswell now.

Maybe time to think about hicas removal and get the bay looking tidier as I feel that's what let it down more.

All the gubbins inside there make it very hard to clean and keep looking tidy. Too much under there really to give it the clean look I'd like.

Still, was suprised to get the runner up with so many really clean looking bays there this year. Lots of very well maintained and presented cars this year.

Not really sure where to go to get any votes on the other categories?

It'll never be an oem car and I assume from the results it'll never be oem+ either. Modified I was suprised to get a vote lol

Interior and ice is far from ever gonna happen too haha.. Although I never leave the car open when unattended so no one got to see my speaker pods and even if they had, if I'd turned the stereo on, people would've been asking where the farting tortoise is hidden lol.

Hmmm, thinking time... Garage required and a job I can make enough to fund projects instead of robbing Peter to pay Paul..

One day!

That said, very happy to have another trophy in the cabinet considering the Bay hasn't changed at all apart from some paint flaking on the pa's pot!

So all in all a very happy NemesiZX..

I'd like to hear some opinions on where you guys think I could improve on nostrils, apart from the obvious nostril removal lol.

Seriously, I'd like to hear what people think Let's the car down and where you think I could improve its desirability..

So let me know what you really think.. And don't worry about offending me, I've got fairly broad shoulders ;o)

congratulations to all who turned up and entered and won prizes.. well done funkysi as last picture I seen your car was in bits, so well done to get it to the show not sure if you got it fully completed..

thanks m8 im glad people understood what i am trying to acheive with the car :), its not quite finished yet but then they never are lol, look forward to seeing yours next year and great to meet you in person (y)

bloody awesome my favourite z:drool::drool::thumbup1::thumbup1:

thanks m8 appreciate it :)

When you take in to consideration what a small club we are now and how far apart we all live it was a brilliant turn out.

For me personally it is encouraging to see newer and younger members turning up with cars.

On the day what stood out was the sheer diversity of models and styles that exist within the club and that are also appearing in the more recently formed Faceboook groups.

Indeed, good to see some cars out and about, full stop. Would of love to have been them this year but er, not getting anywhere fast at present.

You are going to make it in your Z to Beaulieu I hope!
