Anyone know of a reputable supplier of parts for the manual transmissions? bearing and seal kits seem readily available but what about synchro and synchro hubs and gears etc.

 

I have a spare TT gearbox I would like to strip and recondition to put on the shelf for a later date.....

Not sure about a kit for the revised transmission - would probably be better to use those parts though if they're compatible.

That kit ,baulk rings and no sliding sleeves pretty pointless really,be mad to do one without the other.But they will add to the cost considerably id imagine

Exactly my point, cost isn't really an issue, it's just sourcing oem quality parts to build it with.

No afraid not as its all down to parts,aftermarket never covered them over here anyway at least,bearings gaskets are all available but sliding sleeves ive not seen or gears which incorporate the cone also adding more expense if needed or even if they are available.

I believe some of the internals are the same as in the R32 and pathfinder, sometimes a parts search using R32 yields better results but it's knowing for sure which parts are correct, some clever nissan part number use required I think. If I have any results with this I'll update accordingly.

 

I'm sure this kind of rebuild is going to become more asked about as the miles go up on manual Zeds, I know some are having crunching between 1st and 2nd on quick changes.

New ones are still available for now, at a price that isn't too extreme.

Its something ive been looking at for a while now,its becoming quite an issue,good second hand boxes are non existent these days.I have 2 broken boxes i am keeping and a good one stashed away in case my own fails.A Kit the same as CZP sell is available elsewhere for half the money in the states.I found it by googling "300zx transmission rebuilt kit" none list gears or sliding sleeves though !!

It's only half the kit Joel, if there's wear on the gear cones or in the gear teeth then this kit won't do much to improve the health of the box unfortunately.
