The rebuild has finally started today and so far in a few hours I've managed to completely strip the interior.

 

 

 

Next job on my list is to get both the bumpers, tailgate and bonnet off.

 

After that i'll work on the body panels and stripping down the engine.

Never even thought about calling; sorry.

 

Its been dispatched along with a few other parts I needed so not to worry.

 

Wish you had asked Lee,I have a new fork,carrier and Bearing on the shelf.The IAT sensor Joel can not go on the plenum because of heat soak.

I have a few more days before the concept order arrives so over the weekend I cracked on with a few other jobs.

 

First was the entertainment, fitted my speakers, new dab antenna and new pioneer radio.

 

Not any pictures here as they are just the base speakers I could get for little money, but the stereo is digital and has speaker phone built in which is needed.

Out of my loft comes my exhaust which I've not laid eyes on for a few years.

 

 

Very dirty looking so I gave them a quick scrub and polish.

 

Next issue to resolve was my hand brake; which was near non existent.

 

Off comes the rear wheels which surprisingly were held on with just hand tight bolt; oops.

 

It took me a few attempts to work out the procedure to fix the hand brake but I got there in the end and now its tight enough on both sides.

 

After I fixed the hand brake, I did a quick check on a few things and then discovered loads of loose bolts.

 

The brake callipers were bolted on near thumb tight and the main bolts securing the hub never had any cotter pins.

 

 

Crazy wee things like that will end up with a MOT fail.

 

Next thing to do is bleed the brakes but i'm needing to buy or make a bleed kit and also get somebody to push the brake as I do it.

Go and buy a new oil can,Get some windscreen washer clear pipe and back bleed the system squirting fluid back into the sytem.It will save loads of pumping.

So I think my new build finally has a name.

 

Done a quick search and no one that I can see has used it previously.

 

Two things bring the name to mind and even though its a masculine name its been used for females too.

 

First is the name of a computer in a sci-fi tv series (not hal)

Second is the name of a character created by a famous British singer (now deceased)

 

Any ideas ?

Brakes now bled.

 

 

Also started to wire up the new lambda sensors

 

Spent 2 hours making up a new canbus loom and fitting it under the carpet.

 

After hooking it up the ecu couldn't see the can modules so I'm guessing I've done it wrong.

 

So the sensors are coming through the old cat sensor holes.

 

Just need the rubber bungs to seal them in.

 

So now the CAN BUS issue is out of the way the parcel from UPS arrived and i've got these to fit now.

 

Hopefully no more issues and i can get the gear box fitted, starter and the other remaining parts done.

Lots done today but not enough to start her up as yet.

 

Gearbox is in, starter fitted, clutch line connected and attempted to bleed it. :(

 

Single piece prop fitted mostly (missing two bolts, no idea where)

While i was fitting the gearbox bolts the wife sneakily took a few pics.

Looks amazing Lee :thumbup: The marks on the radiator cover will polish out mate I had them on mine when new and a quick polish removed them.
