Whats goin on!

Just bought myself a Z32 ?

Literally today lol, went to view her today and i'll be picking her up next week.

She is a 1993 Non-Turbo, Manual, Import.

It's got a Stainless Cat-back, BC racing Coilovers and K&N Panel filter other than that its completely stock.

Had the brake lines re-done and the Calipers Rebuilt aswell as a Hicas delete.

I've been saving for a good 6-7 months for the car so im excited to actually start spending money on her rather than just putting it aside.

Excited to start sharing my build with you guys and too see your cars aswell.

Doesnt look like ill be able to make the preston on sunday unfortunately. I was going yo get 24 hour insurance so i could drive it home and i was gone pop by on the way back but they wont insure me as im under 25. (My no claims are used on another car at the min so need to sell that before i insure the ZX). I will be going to a meet on the 25th of September though if anyone else fancies it. Its at Botany Bay in Chorley i'll post a link to the facebook event page now

There are plenty of companies that offer classic insurance for under 25s, quite a few people on here under 25 and have their no claims carried on. Have you tried lancaster as they are traders on the club now so supposedly should get us a better deal.

I havn't! I used a comparison website called Uswitch as everytime ive insured anything they've came up with the cheapest quotes but its not a classic policy its just a standard one. Ill look into it though as the cheapest quote ive had so far is £1100 (still cheaper than my 1.6 corolla lol). I've only been driving 3 and a half years and have 2 years NCB hence the high prices. Ill definately look into classic though, it didnt even cross my mind

For these cars classic every time. When Ash got his first zed (20) his insurance was cheaper than his Sierra! Check classic and you could quite possibly be looking at a couple hundred quid depending on how modified/location.

The comparison websites don't work as most classic don't do online quotes, get a specialised quote on classic websites/call them, it will be worth it

Personally, I wouldn't even bother with "normal" insurance companies and online quotes. Give specialists a ring like Lancaster, Adrian flux, carol Nash, sky etc. A Google will find plenty to try. They are very sympathetic to mods etc

Footman James did good insurance for younger people in my experience.

I really wouldn't get hung up over whether it's a classic policy or not anyway. I never bother saying what type of policy I want, I let them decode based on my mod list

Quite possibly. As we have discussed on here before, people's experiences tend to vary wildly so you need to try a few!

I don't have any insurance but I can give you a list

Lancaster (number on one of the banners at top of screen)

Lynbrooks

Footman James

Graham Sykes

Classic line

Adrian flux (sorry trader but generally expensive, but comprehensive cover)

Dad's insured with classic line on mine But it was close, the supposedly 'up to 25% discount' of Lancaster would probably make it better.

We had a thread discussing it here if you want some opinions on experience http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?183212-Insurance-company-ratings-my-experience

If you have more than 1 car, suggesting you want a classic policy with a mileage threshold is absolutely important.

Oh yea I've got a mileage restriction, mad not to. But you don't need a classic policy for that, got one on my daily

I suppose when we are saying classic, we really mean specialist insurance. As you say you just plug the car in and it puts it in whatever category they think suits it, can sometimes be classic, performance or modern classics etc.

Basically just don't get normal insurance.

Nice one

Welcome!!!! Nice car from your NA brother from the USA..! I have every decent mod one can put on a NA and I love it. I've had supercharged Jaguars, turbo TT and another NA, Porsche etc... But I still love my ZX sports car. A sports car doesn't have to be a drag racer as long as it fast enough for you and handles great! And a Z32 is that...
