As most of you know, I have a pair of Recaro Speed seats fitted in my Zed. These were actually an option during the Z32's production run and, as such, are sort of "period correct."

What are peoples' thoughts on changing them for a newer model of Recaro...? Maybe a pair out of an Evo 9, or even an Evo 10...? Should I "modernise" the cabin, or leave things as they are to retain a little authenticity (well, as authentic as red leather can be!)...?

Go.....

I saw Dougals Evo 9 seats and thought they tied in nicely with the retrimmed parts you had done. I think it's not a problem for the swb Z as there are only the two seats to worry about:thumbup: I say go for it:thumbup1:.

Dougal's weren't Evo 9, mate - they were the SR, which is basically the same as I already have ;)

Weren't the Recaro seats available as an option the SR3 model? I believe the speed model is the replacement for the SR3? Could be wrong though.

I'd definitely stick with the Speed. The newer seats don't look as cool, to me.

It may have been both, depending on model year. The "confetti" style was initially used, and there are a couple of slight variations of that (on other cars anyway).

The Speeds are an SR seat, but I can't remember the code for them. Both versions were an option for the Z32; the Speed style (with the rounded shoulders) and the "original" SRs (with the more pronounced shoulder spikes).

Who here has the Evo 9 seats then?? Is it Ash (ADL Phoenix)?? Either way as you have the 2 seater you don't have back seats to match them up to, so imo you could theoretically put any pair of seats that take your fancy and they could tie in with a matching interior

You're thinking of Hollings, I think....

And what do you think ?? You retrimmed his interior also, didn't you? Bang up a pic for all to see, as far as I can recall they looked the business

Few pics of Adams Evo 9 seats

They look like they came with the car:thumbup1:

My humble opinion.....

.....Leave the car which won best interior at Coventry alone....

It looks pretty damn good as it is Si.....

Completely agree with Richard Si..... love the interior in your Zed!

Yeah keep your mitts of the evo 9 seats!

Ive got some datsun b110 seats if you want them??

I am biased but I think some of the composite bride seats look ace and can help modernise the cabin. Akin to some of the porsche GT2/3 style interiors.

Not a fan of Bride seats myself. Too many fakes around and, personally speaking, I don't think they're a particularly attractive seat.

I've always been a Recaro man! :thumbup1:

Yeah fair enough. there are some that work better than others - I think the best suited is the bride stradia II but man are they expensive! And yeah unless you buy new there is now way to guarantee they are genuine.

The recaros are more OEM but I find the ones with the evo x are a bit too pointy for the Z32
