Following on from my thread about the rust on the rear arches,

I would say apart from the uk spec having no rust proofing at all, it would seem that having no arch liners in the rear

is one of the factors of a lot of rust on our rear arches,

Does anyone know of a similar size wheel arch liner from another car that could be fitted with a bit of fettling for our zeds?

Having a liner would stop the stone chips and dirt collecting in the arches.

UK cars have rustproofing - exactly the same as JDM. Not having wheel arch liners is not a factor either. In fact fitting them to a Z would retain moisture and not allow it to breath. Rust onZ32s is caused by trapped moisture from the inside due to the design. If you start covering the inner arches, they won't breathe.

Plastic arch liners are fitted to newer cars which have a different construction and are generally there to hide sound deadening or cover up complex box sections or components.

Ah hands up guys you make sense there, and your right the zed has rusted from the inside out, was just a thought but yes good idea will leave the arches alone once I have sorted them out :)
