Hello!

So after lookign at the underside of the car I noticed how gross the stock downpipes back to the cats are. they have a heatshield or something covering them and the pipes themselves look quite small, what is the standard size?

Also, what size can I get away with sensibly as a bolt on? And finally will a stainless pipe change the sound on a turbo car?

Thanks!

Most upgrade to 2.5". Deleting the cats will make the engine noisier and less laggy. Tbh it's the car back that will change volume most and that really depends on the system. Turbo cars are always quieter than NAs as the turbo itself muffles the sound a bit.

What do you want?

Thanks Steve, is teh stock 2"?

I want a bit more "presence" I guess, as the Veilside is lovely, but I think could be enhanced. Althoguh what I do not want is for my turbos to start smoking as there is no smoke at all on original tubs at the moment. And that change in back pressure woudl worry me, so I have been holding out on a straight through until I can afford tubs! That sound about right?

Best , W

Quite alot of decats have silencers built in so it's not the same as straight pipes, but noise and less back pressure than cats

Something like that yeah.

Buy these;

They're for an NA but should fit a TT. They have a bit more restriction than the others and don't necessitate the removal of the turbo elbows from the turbo that have been rusted and heat cycled on. There available through various sellers under different names so check eBay etc. corse there is still a chance your tubs may smoke but exhaust is just highlighting this not causing.

Not tried them myself but quite a few people have had to hammer them to make them fit.

I have the turbo version didn't have an issue. That's the risk with China stuff.
