No, i had mine bypassed for several months during the summer and had no issues with overheating :thumbup1:

Thats because Jeff would have fitted a new matrix and not have to worry about a bypass lol, lets be fair, the bypass is supposed to be temporary to keep the car on the road until a new matrix is fitted. Mine went one winter and drove it bypassed all the way into the summer when i decided i would like some heat back for the next winter, so drove for several months with no problems, apart from no heat

No I am ok guys, was looking at the water circuit and just wondered if the link would cause a short circuit on the circulation at the top of the engine, of course the matrix has a restricted flow so a link would flow more.

Was one of those spurious thoughts whilst floating around the pool and just wondered on the long term effect, but seems its ok so can rest easy now, thanks guys.

the water channel inside the engine (aka the VG30DE limestone caves) that connects to the RH heater pipe will restrict the coolant flow more then enough

Mmm... not totally convinced of that, if you ever have back flushed the coolant lines / system a hose pipe on full tilt will blast through there as fast as you can put it in?
