Maybe a new thread should be started for members to add solid facts rather than here say and long ingrained personal grudges been held and overlapping in to this I understand you feel it your right to speak out, but this is just coming solely from you maybe other people should be able to speak out and have there say.

Nothing is stopping anyone from commenting as you have done

The only thing stopping me commenting is me!-two sides to every story and all that but let it lie.............

Besides there is ALWAYS stories of this Garage and that Garage that did something or someone wrong.

I did say there were two sides to every story but I guess that must have been over looked.

I should have my 2 penny's worth really..but I can't be arsed!!!, we'll....ok when my car was mapped it never lasted the journey home before my engine melted:(,I had to get it rebuilt, and yes we had to take the map out in the end because it was sh.t,(not my words),I rely on the so called specialist to tell me what I need and surely to god!! if these engines can't take the BHP they where given by so called specialist!! then they should never take CASH of us to do this in the first place, they should be telling us...NO..you need a full rebuild first, then we can make discussion whether we go ahead with the job..yes,personally all this experience has cost me a lot of money, probably near £10,000 with everything that's happened, all I can say is I'm glad and fortunate I can aford this, but feel sorry for those that can't,and have had good hard earned money taken from them:(,Jefftt is right, we..all of us should be aware of what's happening in the zed seen.its for everyone's benefit.

Out of interest grey, what was the cause of engine failure? Ring lands? Also I know you say the map was shit but in what way? Mapping is pealing my interest at present so I'm keen to know where the fault lay. Who read your map and remapped you to where you are now?

Hi bud just speak to Lee dent or jimmer they will explain everything:)

No problems. Just obviously all this conversation about engine damaging power seems rather misleading and lacks any technical information.

its just mud flinging going on here like you say not facts

Why can't people just say outright who did what, or what exactly the problems are, or show the map details on the forum, instead of speak to this guy, or email the info here, etc?

It makes it look like people are talking rubbish or making stuff up.

There does appear from reading different posts over the last 6+ months to be problems with cars failing after mapping, this could be due to old components not being able to handle the power increase, or mapping/fueling issues or other issues, either way I think people should either not comment or comment giving all info....this may save other peolle having the same problems, blown engines then blown bank balances trying to fix them.

We are here to save Zeds and keep the cars going, so sweeping problems under the carpet does not help.

cus when you speak out on here admin will ban you unless you are in the little click in that case you can say pretty much what you want the rest of us cant say anything

I have to say I agree totally. it is frustrating to here people who are enthusiastic and specialists who will not finish this and prevent others from falling foul of those who are or may be damaging members cars - I don't have a vast knowledge of these cars (or any for that matter) and therefore rely on members or traders for their input and recommendations with who to use and in which area. even if there is no solid proof and it is just someone's personal opinion or professional one at that surely it should be shared - I too have spent serious money on my zed through all stages and would be gutted if it went to someone who was not as reputable as I had thought. Perhaps some specific examples a should be given to help us decide - I know traders cant always get it right and things do go wrong but this latest investment for me will be about £10,000 to which I would be devastated if all went well on the build etc yet was damaged through poor mapping - more devastated if people knew full well about these people yet allowed us to give them our pride and joy. Know 100% the person who is working on the engine at present is absolutely spot on in everyway but would like to think as the car leaves him onto the next its in safe hands

I'll start. I had mine mapped, and was thoroughly impressed with the work done. I went in to it knowing the risks and did my own previous research. As and when the engine does go bang, I certainly won't be blaming the person who mapped it.

do a review in the trader feed back section

I want to have a engine rebuild done but threads like this make me doubt. Oh yes, the trader feedback section...... very few people have work done to their Zed apparantly :tongue_smilie:

Rebuilds are not the problem, just making sure it is safe after is.

This is just getting silly. If you have a healthy engine with a good map there is no reason for failure even at 4,500 hp and there are many Z32 across the world running huge power without failure. A bad map will kill the best engine very quickly. Without anyone stating what is actually wrong with said mappers maps its just mud slinging and the mods should be stepping in on this. This thread is full of half stories, no actual Information it just slags people off. I have no care for the people being slagged off but it's just silly unless a proper discussion is had. Let's have some information or out our handbags away.

Agreed.

We are at risk of bringing this club into disrepute.

Simply an opinion on what I see, and what the larger membership need to be aware of, do not see anything that reflects badly on the forum here, maybe ask yourself why the thread has had so many views with so few complaints.

Not my quote but very fitting:

"If your`re not helping to make it right, then stop complaining about it been wrong"

So I made my stand to bring this subject to the attention of others, and your thinking is exactly why I did, bury your head in the sand all you want, but this education ignorance is foolhardy, get wise it will save you and others their hard earned cash.

Trust me Jeff there is no ignorance here, I'm fully aware of the situation, as are many others. I appricate you feel the need to get your soap box out but you've made your point now and are now just repeating yourself. Without providing anything informative your not educating anyone, just slagging off a business or two. Like I say, I have no interest in these people, it effects me not but without information your at risk of looking like the bad guy yourself.

As I said previously if there is an issue with said mapper then what is the issue or issues? I'm aware of certain customer service issues but not technical ones of any detail. Your statement is that he sells dreams of too much hp for stock engines and blows them up. To phrase that they way it's being put, if you run more than the standard 14psi that's good for about 340hp your 20+ yer old engine will melt. That is utter rubbish and akin to when people said "they were going fast so they crashed" a symptom or factor is described as a cause, without any information to credit the claim or even make any sense of it.

So let's have some proper information or none. Have engines blown due to overly lean AFRs? Excessive cylinder temperatures? Excessive timing?
