Currently the 300 has a Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser fitted. It had it when I bought the car, and in all honesty I have never been happy with it and having looked at the wiring for it, it has clearly been installed by a complete muppet.

As such I am looking to rip it out and replace it (although I will get someone to do it for me to ensure the cert gets signed etc).

SO what do people recommend? I don't need a tracker, just a half decent kit.

I just had an Autowatch 457RLi fitted to my Z, one of the newer ones on the market, not cheap, Toad are now nearly 20years old now, loads of installers around the country now fit the Autowatch, insurance approved..

I have the Toad Ai606 installed - CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser with additional microwave internal sensor for when

the targas are off. The model has been on the market for many years and has been a reliable system for me.

Same system here, fitted by me with remote boot release. trouble free from day 1.

Yep, the Clifford Avantguarde range, had the 750 on my Evo8, anti hijack, Proximity sensors, every time a door is opened you tap in a 3 digit code on a tiny 2 button pad, it was irritating at first but you got so used to it you didn't even realise you did it. If someone pulls you from the car and drives off without entering your code, the car only moves for a hundred metres or so to be far enough away from you that the thief can't force you to type it in, but close enough for you to pick up a lump of timber etc to go over and batter him:thumbup:

The only downside is I usually end up putting in the PIN two or three times as I immediately forget if I've entered it! Only rocking two digits though.
