My Z is due to go in for a complete body haul and respray in a couple weeks and i am half minded to try and widen the rear arches a bit to give a bit of unique styling.

something like this grabs my eye..

I would only want to widen the rear though as don't want the car to look chubby..

Any thoughts on this?

Not a fan personally. The Strosek ones are probably the least favourite of the popular kits, some of the metal fabricated ones look nice, the blue one Rich posted the previous page works well, but generally they don't, they completely throw the balance off unless ultra subtle.

Don't even get me started on ****ing Rocket Bunny kits!!!!

I like the nsx rocket bunny but never sseen one for the z. If thay orange one is i might be sick

Found out earlier the arch was from a Mercedes CLK, Driverside front arch matches with the Passenger rear side of the Z very closely!

Don't get him started!

There is no official rocket bunny kit bugt people have made their own, and tbh it really doesnt suit the car. twinz makes one, but its not for me im afraid.

I don't like that either tbh. You seen one called Joezy?

Rocket bunny kits are awful.

I like the blue Z though above (apart from the front bumper) - the rear arch conversion looks fantastic. The one Daz posted however - eeeeoooow!

hi richie

who owns this zed as im interested to see the build photos

Have a look at my blue zed thread, one of the last ones on it has a savage metal arch on the rear made from a front arch, It's very subtle and looks almost factory:thumbup:

In fact....HERE IT IS

I'm sure Jada Allen is the guy who has this Z don't know if he has anymore build photos other than the one he sent me, I'll ask him though

Love the proportions of the rear arches of the Blue Z, very subtle.

As for the front, just doesn't look right to me.

Front bumper aside, the front wheel just doesn't sit well within the arch in my opinion.

A bit squashed.

Cheers mate

Talking of rear arches here is my zed on some borrowed wheels and the rear arches I have gone with.

I'd have said CarMad's car has less offensive wide arches

So subtle even the purest struggle. I changed almost the full panel to blend it in. Very oem looking imo

I have to say I think car mads is the perfect arch, as I have said before the rear arch needed to mirror the front by extending from the top of the wing without being bulbous and not an add on flare as most seem to be.

The blue car is a good flare but it looks too flat over the top of the wheel and out of sorts with the front.

Car Mad, what base arch did you use for this or was is it fabricated form scratch?

cheers steve its all 100% from scratch so total one off it took forever to do but its only about 20/30mm flare but makes the world of difference, especially from behind its just enough to get rid of the flat sides.

Fantastic job, shame you couldn't create a base mould to work up from, great result though, factory should of offered this.

Over here/uk and further the Strosek Z was the one I liked. A guy called Paul Baily built them in uk.

Whilst the work gone into most of these rear arch extensions is of very good quality I'm not a fan of them myself, I don't consider the front arches to be flared, they roll over the wheel to meet the bonnet but if you look down the length of the car they aren't really a flared arch like say an M3 for example.

Also if you look at the rear of the zed from behind from the roof line around the side down to the sill it is one continuous curve which I think looks near as damn it perfect.

Nice work though guys :thumbup1:
