So, been putting some of the blue car back together and I'm not too sure what to do. The previous owner had done a bunch of custom stuff, like brushed metal buttons and things. I'm trying to decide whether to go with it or return some of it back to stock.

What do you lot think on this? Might make for an interesting debate.

I think a brushed steel would look amazing, those just don't look very well made/thought out. I think it's the random layout and none have labels

I'd go back to stock, personally. The custom buttons and plinths really spoil it for me...

have say the mix of blue and brushed metal mite look ok in pagani zonda but looks really cheap and and a bit naff. need to go back stock with black interior. but if you think it nice then thats great :thumbup1::thumbup1:

They're basically flat pieces and fit onto the pod holders spot on really, they need to be glued/stuck in place though.

The buttons, can all have what they do stuck on, id need to put them in properly though, just paved them in to show what they look like.

The centre radio bit would have the aircon display and all the control buttons on it.

I'm just not sure they look better than they would in stock form. If I did go back to stuck, the drivers door trim would need looking at as its been made to have a handle the same as the passenger side

Go back to stock mate, it looks like it's a cross between a track car and a Luxury GT car, you can't pull both off, put it back to luxury GT car.

I think a lot of time and efforts gone into it but that it doesn't suit. As said if it was a stripped out track car maybe, how do you figure out what does what?? You can't read the heater temp etc

Yeah, I have re-evaulated my thoughts, and i think OEM would look better. It looks plain, it would only look good if it was fuller, and a bit less random

The heater stuff isn't in there mate. If you look at the radio surround there's a square where the temperature etc shows and there's a bunch of buttons that go around it.

I think once its all wired in, it'd be easy to find what does what. I know generally what things would do what

So, My two cents... I am not against customs pods and panels, I just wouldn't go with brushed aluminium. I don't think it suits the car. It is always nice to have chamfered edges, and materials that feel nice as well as good looking and personal that metal doesn't do it for me. Now if it was a carbon fiber or something perhaps I woudl like it more. After all the stock pods do look very 90s!

Also on the door, the whole interior is very soft and comfy looking with that alcantara/suede, and then you have a very imposing silver rectangle which again doesn't look like it is mean to be there. But of course this is just my opinion :D

Thanks Will, I appreciate yours and everyone else's 2 cents worth mate and appreciate anyone who takes the time to reply.

I like the idea of something different, I'm just not sure I can get away with it hence the post?

Not a fan but wonder what it would look like if you got them all anodised black?

God damn it just turned my pc off, I'll do it tomorrow

The pods and centre consol look horrific, the pods especially. Who thought that would look in any way better? Made me laugh anyway!

I think it'd have been interesting when first done. Thing is, I quite like the stock interior if I'm honest.

It's a no from me. You'd have to work really hard, inserting them into the panel so it flowed and felt nice. At present they just look plonked in. Kinda looks like it's trying to hard but hasn't finished it properly. IMO

I got a brushed stainless thing, but it doesn't look out of place like your aircraft diy switches

Please bare in mind, I have just stuck them in place here, they aren't fitted properly but I doubt it'd look much different. I do have newer metal bits that were made up which are a little better looking, but still just the same really.

I'm obviously not that keen myself if I'm honest but all of your views are always good to hear.

Do we think the centre radio surround should maybe stay blue though, I don't mind it to be honest (apart from where all the buttons are

My personal opinion is that there's waaay too much blue in there already.

If the exterior is a loud or bright colour, then the interior should be more muted. Conversely, if the exterior's muted (like mine, for example) then the cabin can handle some colour. And no, I'm not just saying this to justify my red interior!

To be honest, I think it's mainly just the bits that everyone does apart from the radio surround, pod holders which you can't really see anyway and the steering column thing

Ultimately it's your choice but the closer you get to stock is better imo... Just enhance what's already there
