Help Needed

Hi All,

I have some issues with my Z that I need help with. If there's anyone in the NE who is handy and can drill down to misfiring issues etc. I would be happy to pay for your time and travel etc.

Thanks in advance.

There's a few members local who may be able to help you out.

Bird (Lee) would be my first guess as he has a variety of diagnostic gear and has had Zeds for years. He's up in Sunderland.

Paulzx may be able to help, although I know he's very busy at the moment. He's in Hartlepool.

I'm in Hartlepool too. But currently on a train to Aberdeen and won't be home for a couple of weeks.

I'm in Bishop Auckland this weeked trying to fix my own misfire. Ihave been away a lot recently but I'm trying to spend more time up north this year.

If I ever can help I am more than happy to mate.

We should have a meet at your house lol. Have you checked anything so far?

Yeah I've checked the coil pack and the plug so it must be the injector. It's also quieter than the rest of them.

Lets get the BH out of the way and take it from there.

Cheers.

Not a North Sea Tiger (did one trip offshore when I packed in working deep sea and said never again).

I'm skipper of a harbour tug based in Aberdeen.

You can diagnose loads with a multimeter and a little thinking.

Isolate which cylinder(s)

Check for spark and fuel, invariably one is missing.

Check/clean the connector

Ohm test the offender, coil or injector. (Probably best to ohm all the injectors anyways, preventative)

Check for supply to the connector.

All the how's of this are easily found via search. No harm in asking though. Dirty connections are THE number one culprit.

I went round ohm testing my injectors the other day, found it much better with crocodile clips than trying the hold the rods steady
