Hi, about 12 years ago I had a 300zx SWB TT Manual, alas I don't anymore and am looking! Price is negotiable depending on the condition, I have already contacted an importer and will be starting my search in earnest at the end of May, but if there is one available in the UK, I'd much rather purchase here if possible.

Kind Regards

James

Welcome back to the fold James. [emoji41][emoji106] Unfortunately the numbers of available cars for sale have drastically decreased in 12 years, but fortunately, there does seem to be a relatively new focus on good quality, decent cars being sold; albeit usually with a price tag to match!

Good luck in your search and be sure to check out the club importer as he has made some very happy Zedders over the last few years. Do you have any pics of your old Z to share? It is quite impressive that you registered to the club in 2004 and that was your first post!

I have seen that one but I'm pretty specific in what I'm looking for, not that it isn't very nice!

I'll upload the pics I have tomorrow, I also have a video when I took it to RWYB at Santapod if it allows it to be uploaded? I did my best back then but truth is I just couldn't afford to keep her running, I did all the work and some modest upgrades and sold her for a loss as a solid running good example :(

I do seem to recall even back then this was a great community to be a part of :)

To upload best is to puload to YouTube and then use tags around the link.

So you're looking for a lightly modified car to build on? Is that it?

I'd prefer stock but yes I'll take something lightly modified, I'll be taking it and over the course of a year (maybe 2 depending on funds available) getting it as close to show standard as I can. Engine upgrades will be included but I want to do it in conjuction with advice from this forum and Jim at PowerZed, I have an everyday car so can afford to get it right this time!

General advice thus far appears to broaden my search to include the Auto as well, as much as I'm reluctant, anyone know of SWB TT Auto going for sale?

I'm very surprised this hasnt been snatched up yet, but its a SWB slicktop TT auto http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?178231-TT-Slicktop-Auto-25th-Anniversary-Silver!

You can always get a manual swap later down the line.

Says in the thread it sold?

No the trasnsaction Id was for paying for subscription. Not sold

Possibly because one cylinder is showing 70psi.

I thought it was because of the rust... Will the engine need a rebuild or is it scrap?

For a slickie though isn't that still a good price?

Until you pull it apart you just can't know. Could be as simple as a poorly seating valve or a blown HG. Early engines are prone to valve issues. Or it could be ringland damage that has subsequently scored the bore, requiring over sized Pistons. Surgery whatever the case. Couple this with the body work that is required and you've spent some sizeable cash. Personally I wouldn't pay that for it, however I paid a pitence for mine compared to what it would cost for one as it was now. £2k for a freshly painted, recent import twin turbo, be closer to 5k now I think. Really should up my insurance value, it's only down for £3.5k.

Cheers, that does put in in perspective.

I remember when I was buying my one there was a manual TT with a veliside Kit which claimed perfect condition apart from a little smoke and pressurizing coolant. I presumed head gasket to I ran... far, not worth the risk :(

Hi Jimbo, please drop me an email. You may be interested in my car.

If this is true...

I hope you hold true to this

Seriously tempted to just give up on mine and snap this beaut right up!

Lovely one of a kind find!

The 18k miler would be lovely, but TBH I wanted a SWB version.

Personal circumstances have changed since my lovely wife decided to end our 18 year relationship and well life is rather different now otherwise my Zed wouldn't be going anywhere as I'd be keeping it as a long term project and investment as the prices rise!

Wow, sorry to hear, good luck with a sale then :(

Really sorry to hear this, mate! :(

Thank you, but don't get me started! For those that haven't been through a marriage breakup, it really is the shitty thing, I would never have believed the pain until now.

I'm doing ok, but life is different now.
