Just brought the car back out from storage.

Just before I put it away in October, a couple times the car went into safety boost, there was no symptoms, car seems to be running fine, no error codes.

I brought it out to plat at the weekend, did about 60 miles, car all good, no issues..

Yesterday, did about 20 miles on way to a gig, into safety boost again, a simple switch off and on again and the car boosts once more.

One thew way back home, same thing.

Hooked up to Datascan again this morning, still no error codes.

As the fault is intermittent without a clear symptom other than safety boost, where do I start checking first?

Cheers lads.

That's one thing it isn't.

Did a boost leak test over the winter, and fixed about 4 leaks lol, boost is nice and stable now.

It's something I'd always wanted to do, but never had a compressor until the winter, got one as an xmas pressie.

you may be getting a spike of over boost and thats making go into safety. ie knock and it going into safety,

or a fault on the knock sensor isnt self

Had a we play about with the boost there, it usually sits at 14, I've dialed it back to 12 though, the boost is pretty much always rocks solid, never seen it over-boost that I can remember...took it a wee blast, was boosting fine at 12, came to a slow section and when I got to a faster section of road again, back to safety boost, argh lol.

why dont you turn it down to 10 psi and just see if it does it at that level

Are you still using the fuel that was in the tank before you put it into storage?? it may have gone stale and lost its Octane causing the motor to "dett" or better known as "pinking"

There was hardly any fuel in it over winter, I always park it up with little left.

Had a full fresh tank of fuel before I boosted.

If it did, what would that prove in diagnosis?

The car has been running a bar since I got it.

I would prove that too much boost is causing it to go into safety boost. Then you need to find out what cant cope

Are you getting code 34 or not? I'd be suspicious of the dett sensor or/and harness.

No codes at all mate.

No codes at all mate.

check codes before you do a fresh re-start (iff possible of course) as this re-start clears code 34.

Ahh will do, didn't know switching the ignition off and on cleared codes, that's a new one!
