Right guys, still looking for a Zed, been monitoring the prices, for what I have seen so far and quoted by a couple of importers this seems a fair price.

Any feedback welcome, gazwoz should have his cars ready soon for sale soon.

Cheers.

Keep in mind that cars like this are usually in superb condition in Japan, but can deteriate very quickly in a climate like ours. Depends how it's been cared for in the past two years.

I wouldn't let the premium of importing put you off, but it depends on the car :)

Was quoted £13.500 for a white tt from an importer mot plates etc all duties paid, I will enquire with the seller more details of course and as in my original post gazwoz has two cars just arrived from Japan being prepped for sale, so options are open, everything for sale so far is always a long distance from me.

My immediate concern about the PH car would be this: if he's owned it for 2 years, why are the photos from when it was imported...?

The seller says it's only covered 900 miles since import, but it was apparently last serviced 1,200 miles ago. So he (and you, as a prospective buyer) have no real idea of what this most recent service included. For that money, that would concern me a little bit as, basically, he's done nothing at all to the car since he bought it 2 years ago.

I had no idea that any Z32 came with a tilting steering wheel!

He seems to be very vague about the car, mentioning that there are "other modifications" but not actually stating what they are. Were they fitted when he bought it, or during his ownership?

Just seems a very lazy advert to me. Without getting much more info out of the seller, I'd personally be steering clear of this one....

the car is original with low mileage.

there are other extra's fitted.

?????

Factory Upgraded Headlamps

What factory upgrade would that be?? They look like stock headlamps to me

Surely it's worth a look at least? Lazy advert, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean the car's a heap. Being me I'd ask the owner a few more questions, ask for couple more pictures, then go and view the car, using the points made above to haggle on price if all seemed well :)

Agreed entirely.

If its as rust free as it is claimed and the mileage is correct it is well worth a look.

Sadly that is a downside of living in the Kingdom of Fife:biggrin:

It is a problem living here, owned a couple of Zed's many years ago, had to travel many miles south of the border to purchase, three wasted trips for cars not as described, also the money involved with the travel, it's why I am reluctant to go too far to view a car.

With all due respect, I think that's the problem in general for second hand Z32s in the UK irrespective of where you live - you HAVE to be prepared to travel and there are many out there that just aren't as owners describe them as. It's a pity really. Having said that, what one person might think is 'mint', others will think is a dog. I've seen very few that I'd consider 'mint' and rust-free.

I've seen many adverts for cars where they state, "car is mint, except for a bubble of rust on the rear arches and stone chips on the front bumper", that's not 'mint' then is it! Or...."interior is mint except for the usual front bolster wear". NOT ****ING MINT THEN IS IT!!!!

Sounds good but you need to ring him for more details and get up to date pictures. I flew to England to get mine but made it clear to the seller I wanted the truth on the condition of the Z as I was going to have to fly from Belfast to view it. Best car I ever bought

I've messaged the seller for more info, advert states more pics to go up on the 20th this month, still waiting for a reply. As stated in an earlier post I'm also waiting for gazwoz's cars to be advertised, the white 99 spec N/A has caught my eye, others as well no doubt, not fussy if it's tt or n/a to be honest, mid sixties now, no need for speed, it's more a nostalgia trip having owned two Zed's in the past and before that Datsun Z.

Messaged the seller for more details about this car and location, the reply is roughly this, car Manchester, last service in Japan over two years ago, car in good condition. That's about it.

I'll try again for more info, very little to go on here.

...so he hasn't even changed the oil in two years?

I think with that little maintenance its a bit harsh to charge £7000, even if it only has 26000 miles

Very little indeed and would be worried about the seller holding out on the real condition of his Z.

Think he would be more willing to give an interested buyer all the info possible!

I imported my Z two years ago & its had 3 oil changes!

Wheels look 17 with space on arch?

Tillting steering wheel is interesting!

All mentioned seem pretty standard.

Wheres the fog light fitted? speedo converted? Odometre reading KM or Miles?

Hi there are many more cars out there, a copied old ad no current info or pictures, I would not even contact him. A true enthusiast would not do that steer well clear.
