I would like to buy a exhaust. Now I'm a bit confused because I think I read somewhere that the exhaust for a twin turbo "manual" won't fit a twin turbo "auto". Does this mean that the auto-gearbox takes up more space than the manual? I guess I can at least install the mufflers and the X-tubes?

I problably will refurbish my turbo's in the winter. Is it true that the turbo's on a "auto" are different then the one's on a "manual"? If so, does anybody knows what turbo's are on the "auto" so I know wich revision kit to buy?

Thanks, Mike

The exhaust is the same for both, but with the autobox having a sump, a little maneuvering around it should do the trick with the down pipes, everything else from cat back is the same :thumbup1:

Turbo are different from manual to auto but only by AR basically the wheels and housings are very slightly different. In terms of rebuilding them the core is universal between T22,25 and 28 so you simply need that kit. Add step gap exhaust seals and 360' trust bearings while your in there and ensure you get them balanced afterwards.

Normaly solved with a hammer on the drivers side...Anyway this only applies to the Japspeed 2 piece type... The regular 3 hole single piece down pipes or decat pipes will fit either auto or manual with no metal bashing involved:hammer::wink:

The turbo elbows are also different between cars with pre-cats and without pre-cats which means the downpipes/front pipes are different. Its fine if you are changine the lot but if your only doing from elbos back then you need to make sure and get the correct front pipes.

Maybe they meant a 2-seater exhaust/catback won't fit a 2+2...

the mufflers and h/x-pipe (aka catback), are different in length for a coupe/2-seater (2+0) and a 2+2...so make sure you the correct one for you car.
