So I have got a set of new Ultralites sat in my garage which I am tempted to put on the Zed. They are 18" x 8.5j all round - not staggered like my current wheels.

Anyway I can't get a decent answer for what would be ideal tyre sizes to put on front and rear and stay within the 3% ideal tolerance.

I have had tyre places recommending from 225/40's to 265/35's. I want the widest possible on the rear but possibly less on the fronts - to replicate a slightly staggered set up.

Thoughts?

Also, my thoughts are on Yokohama Advan Sport V105's, Pirelli P zero Rosso's, Federal 595 rs-r's or Falken FK453's. Anyone know much about these tyres?

Ta!

Hi Greg,

I reckon you'd just get away with 225/40 and 245/35.... (Maybe even 255/35) front / rear with 8.5j wheels. As for the makes you suggest, then the Pirellis would be my choice from those; possibly followed by the Yokos. I'd steer clear of the others - even though I have not heard bad things about the Falkens

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Ive got 225/50/16 on OEM rims on the front. They are Falkens and so far are really good.

I've got 245/45/16 on OEM rims on the back. They are Toyo as thats the only tyre that BlackCircles had that would fit

Both sizes are stock sizes from the manual, however from a distance the rear tires look low profile and the fronts look like offroad tyres, its a bit strange. I looked at all 4 of my mates 300zx and they are the same, even his Supra is the same, small looking rears and larger looking fronts. Annoying but thats the way Nissan wanted it I guess...
