Dan, out of interest have you trial fitted those SMICs, I had to do a fair amount of modification to get my oversized ones behind my bumper?

yes there on the car i removed the carbon canister also the over over flow rad bottle and the washing screen bottle to make as much room as i could so the air flow through them much as it would

as you can see its now clear behind the coolers were before it was rammed with stuff

dan are you painting targas i found it better to put new end caps on after or paint tries to join them together...ps your car is looking the nuts

i actually left mine black and it looks well, my car has a black and white theme,

 

yes i want them red for sure. i have stripped the mirrors down to just like you have my house it full of car parts inc the bed room now looks like a scrap yard

My mirrors i did a little different that is why i am using a lot of black, i had the plastic part painted but rather then mask the metal bit so it is black and colour coded at the end i had it powdercoated gloss black and looks really well,

 

 

 

i also did my roof bars black, black wheels, black sail panels on doors and the bit you have for tailgate and lights etc are black and eventually i will have 99spec lip and fog light ducts in black just to break it up a little...

Don't do your backings bodycolour. You've got a natural window-line that finishes in the corners of the door - having a bodycolour backing looks odd and doesn't tie in at all.

I'd do them a dark metallic grey personally.

Satin black is awful!

 

The windows have shine to them. The dark metallic grey I chose is really dark and I had it matched to the original base as a shade, but had this as metallic gloss. It matches the moustache and also the scuttle panel.

are you doing roof red or black bars, makes it look like modern car with all glass roof
