I'm looking to find out if the Bose rear speaker enclosures will fit behind stock boot trims on 2+2 that didn't have them from the factory?

And also what aftermarket speaker sizes will they accept.

Looking to enhance the sound but keep the boot as stock as possible.

Great stuff, cheers guys, I'm just looking to improve the mid bass response in the car, I did do a big boot install last year but to be honest I'm fed up lugging the extra weight around all the time, just need to locate these enclosures now.

Am I right saying the 1990 bose system used the 6.5" speakers but 1991 on they reduced to 4.5"?

Im looking at pics online and notice they seem different SWB and LWB the ports are different shapes?

I have a 1990 and found this under the door card last week when fitting my new handles...

They're very small! And not standard either by the looks of things.

By the look of it they aren't sealing, as there is a gap round the speaker. This is not good. You really need to have the speaker sealed into the box.

If you make an MDF plate to fit snuggly into the indented bit where the speaker is and then cut a hole in the middle to fit the speaker snuggly into it will sound loads better.....

Saw these online. Postage actually cheaper if 2 ordered.

2 pairs ordered together is £27.00 inc postage (£13.50 each pair)

1 pair ordered on it's own is £21.60

I'm doing the same to my rears, so I can order you a pair at the same time if you like.

I'm after the bose speaker enclosures mate, these are for the steel plate type setups, but thanks for asking. :thumbup1:

Well I'll be dammed. Thank you very much!!! That's on the list of important things to do! I was surprised how good condition the speakers were in after hearing how badly they perform... makes perfect sense now. Lol

Bose did change the speaker size used (I can't remember the years). Just look out for 6.5 " type. The physical boxes and mounting

points to the car are the same for 2+0 and 2+2. The ports are different sizes L&R as the boxes are different volumes for the bass

reflex design.

They are cheap...even with the shipping....but they do state as being for the 2+0 and smaller speakers?....but I am sure there are more knowledgeable people on here who can advise!!
