bird Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Where do you buy these as 1 of mine is broken sadly. The pipes that run under the car. Not sure if it's worth doing the brake lines at the same time? Iangreenfield Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Should be able to buy these oem Lee however it might be cheaper to find a hydraulic specialist locally and have one made. If you take the old one that can usually make one to match it. Quote
bird Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Thanks Ian, I googled it but struggled to find much so I'm not sure whether im typing the wrong stuff in. Me referring to them as lines... bird Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 It's the metal lines that rung from front to back of the car under a plastic cover if that helps. Defo not hoses as in rubber Quote Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
Iangreenfield Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Ahh I see any garage with a brake line kit should be able to make one up for you mate I would have thought you just need the correct end fittings to crimp in place I guess Quote

JeffTT Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 If you just have a leak at one point then you cut and fit a 10 mm line connector. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hydraulic-Straight-Metric-Tube-Equal-Compression-Fitting-Coupling-Pipe-Joiner-G-/251226630053?var=&hash=item3a7e4627a5:m:mI8cZ3-fLseBdj6PPnq2KkQ Jeff Quote

Are these kind of things easy enough for garages to do though? JeffTT Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 You can buy 10mm pipe with connectors and make up a repair section, needs to be up in the air though lee, 10 mm pipe not the easiest to bend though, still cheaper than new Nissan sections, another option is to remove the hicas and the pipes become redundant. bird Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Thanks Jeff. So would I be best doing doing the lot? Or is it a real pita? Quote Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
JeffTT Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Thanks Jeff. So would I be best doing doing the lot? Or is it a real pita? The main problem Lee is the route the original pipes take, really a mare to get right, running a simpler route may be possible and couple up at different points, you could even get high pressure 10 mm hoses made up at a hydraulics place, for me I would repair the damaged area only or do a hicas delete, depends on if your doing it on a ramp or at home. Jeff Thanks Jeff. Think I'd like to have a go at replacing it... Probably at home but I could probably get it on a ramp if need be. Does this look like the right stuff? The screws are 10mm thread but the pipe itself is 3/16". Or does the pipe itself need to be 10mm? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251734266742?adgroupid=13585920426&hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=pla-131843278626&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&poi=&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&ff19=0&googleloc=1006886&device=c&chn=ps&campaignid=207297426&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13=80 Quote Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Jeff Jeff, another quick question, sorry! So is it a certain type of 10mm pipe I'd need or is it a specific type? Like copper, steel, alumi etc? JeffTT Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Steel pipe is standard, hence why it corrodes, not sure if alloy pipe is available in that size, would certainly be easier to bend !! Jeff Quote

bird Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 Just looked on the nissan fast system and I can't even see the pipes listed... Unless I'm missing something.
