Hi all, my Z has the drivers door lock disconnected, no boot lock and parked with the passenger side up against wall.....

The battery has died and alarm of course is dead to unlock drivers door.......

Soooooo now I am locked out of the car..... I did have a charger in the car charging the battery but must have knocked the connector off in the boot when I shut it a few weeks ago....

Anyone got any ideas what I can run a 12v feed down to power up car enough to power up alarm and unlock drivers door??

I can only think of the starter, but being so damn low I can't reach it......

????????????????????????

Cheers

I was thinking you could go over, but if that's the case then that's probably not an option either  Best of luck then!

Sent you a private message with the solution, not for public view of course....

Does it involve a screwdriver and a hammer?

Thanks Jeff, the internal release and outside lock disconnected at the same time...... I will be reconnecting the internal lock as soon as i get back in..... lol

I spent a while thinking about where to add power to and I am going to try to jack the car and use the starter motor connection to feed the battery with a charger to power the alarm system so I can open her......

If that doesn't work I shall try the idea you put forward to access the boot.....

I will be adding a charger port on the car so I can plug in an external power supply. I just need to find somewhere to fit a waterproof socket, Thinking behind the rear number plate or in/behind the rear bumper.....??

It makes sense so I can just feed 12v into the car whilst off the road and keep the battery topped up and alarm on......

Couldn't you drag it out of the garage using a tirfor winch or similar? We use them at work, they'll easily drag a car with all four wheels locked. You could then just open the passenger door. You can hire then for about £20 from hss.Screenshot_2016-01-07-07-58-05.jpg

Well I got into her today... Jacked her up using scissor jack and blocked under front wheel, 2 wires to the starter and then attached to jumper pack...... enough juice to power alarm and popped the doors!

So now the charger is permanently attached to the audio system in the boot. Next step is to fit a waterproof socket hidden away so I can add a 12v supply when I need to power up in an emergency....

Thanks for all the ideas......

Russ
