Hi All,

My Dad has a G Plate gun metal grey 300zx TT sat in the Garage (Jap import) with 70 thousand KM on the clock and it's Auto.

Does anyone know if the VG30DETT mated to an auto actually put out 276BHP or was it in reality higher than this due to the Japanese gentlemens agreement ?

Anyone know what she will pull 0-60 roughly with no mods? We had it chipped back in Y2K but fuel consumption went a bit mental and when it shot up to 1.40 we had it removed.

Also would anyone have an idea what it is worth? Are 300zx's now appreiciating ? Don't see many of them on the road ever now. It's good nick with no mods at all.

Thanks

Jack

0-60 probably about 6.5 - 7 seconds at that age without a tune up realistically.

The prices are heading in the right direction that is for sure.

The autos made around 280hp from factory as they had smaller turbos than the manuals.

They are starting to go up in price and if its clean and stock it could probably make about 5k comfortably.

Should it not be quicker then that the na was around that wasnt it...i would of thought around 5.5 to 6...

I think a lwb auto would be 6.5+ seconds, na were 7+ weren't they? Na had shorter final drive so weren't that far off the family estate models.

You should be able to pull a 6 sec 0-60 in a healthy 2+2 turbo auto. If you can't either it's not healthy, has crap tyres or you can't drive. Book times for turbo models are about mid 5s. With a 2+0 targa tested as a flat 5 back in the day by a professional driver. Getting a zed to 60 quickly isn't about lack of power it's about getting it off the line without excessive wheel spin or bogging down.

That's what I was thinking considering a civic type r or my old prelude vtec was around 6.5sec and my 1st zed I always played with cousin in his civic and zed use to pull away easily.

I've also driven a friends na and was not has fast as tt, felt about the same as my prelude vtec did,

Thanks for the heads up

Unfortunately she has been sitting for a few years now, I am contemplating getting her back on the road & tuned up - does anyone know what the costs might be involved with this and what would need to be done to tune her up?

Some pics if anyone's interested:

I dont think anyone can put a price on the 300zx to get it back on the road without knowing what it needs. Does it start and run? Are the brakes seized? If you want to sell then get yourself Subscribed and it should get a lot of interest here as it looks in good shape from the pictures. Here is a link below if you think you want to sell Jack.
