For those that know me and have been to any shows with me this year will know that I've been struggling with my knee for quite some time now and recently I've been really struggling to even walk at times.

Well it was supposed to be today but it's been put back to tomorrow but I'm finally having an arthroscopy to clear out some damaged cartilage, removal of the knee joint lining and trim some bone off the back of my knee cap.

To say I can't wait is an understatement so 12 am tomorrow it's game on.

Hopefully I'll see a big improvement in my mobility and way less pain so fingers crossed.

I feel your pain fella. I had my MPFL reconstructed 2 years ago, but it didn't solve my symptoms, so had a tibial tubicle osteotemy and a MPFL graft at the beginning of this year (simple terms, they break your shin to move the patella tendon further down to lower the knee cap further down the joint, and then pinch a tendon from the hamstring to replace the shagged ligament that keeps the knee cap tracking straight)

Enjoy the pain meds and unless under strict instruction not to, start moving the joint as soon as possible, it really really does help speed up recovery

I'm so glad you didn't upload a pic to go with that post :sweatdrop:.

Was gonna post a pic of me in my sexy surgical stocking too Andy.

I had the same operation done 5 years ago now, and it made a world of difference!

Hope your recovering well?

Glad that it's all good Ian, take it easy and put the feet up, :thumbup1:

Ian glad you have had it done as it should make it easier for you at least for a few years at worst but please please please do not take it easy and put your feet up as it will be the worst thing you could do

Get your self an exercise bike and use it at least as many times a day as you can as it will help with the knees flexibility if you just sit around the op will not have done any good

I hope you do not get offended at my next point and don't smack me when you next see me but seriously think about losing a bit of weight as any weight loss will really help with knee related problems

hope the recovery goes well and you the pain is a thing of the past

Ah Steve, it was just a figure of speech:innocent: It would've sounded weird if I'd said " Glad that it's all good Ian, now follow your doctors orders, get out exercising and lose some weight!!" :tt2::biggrin: I think Ian knows it was just a Club member wishing him well:thumbup1:

Nah just tell it as it is with knees and hips

I have had both scrapped with micro surgery earlier and then 3 years ago had both of the knee joints replaced within 7 months of each other and exercise was the name of the game lost a bit of weight but not as much as I should have don't

No more coming down the stairs on my backside for me now (well as long as I don't

have a skinful)
