Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details

Hello All,

Some of you may be shocked at the title because yes Japfest has changed its venue from the Old faithful (Castle Combe) to the new shiny Silverstone.

Japfest-2016-location.jpg

Quite a few things have changed this year with the booking process, so please read the below instructions carefully. What will be staying the same is that we have a combined stand with the 350Z/370Z club and Z Club, so it should be a good turn out for the Z's.

New Self Service Booking System

Japfest have changed the way club bookings work this year, meaning that individual club members can book their own tickets and vehicle passes for the clubs stand. Please follow the following instructions for a successful transaction:

  • Club members must go to http://japfest.co.uk/club-info to book their tickets
  • Select your Club (Z Club) from the menu and enter the Club's Personal Password - 215.408
  • Proceed to select required tickets and place order - Make sure you choose 'Club Vehicle pass' to get on the club stand.
  • Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email as proof of payment

Club space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The deadline to book club tickets is Friday 18th March, subject to space availability.

If you have any difficulties, our club support helpline is available on 01959 543 724 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please call this number and do not PM me as I have no access this year.

Club Ticket Prices for 2016 Per Person

  • Club Early Bird Package £48 - includes show entry at Japfest and show entry and pre-show camping at Japfest Rock! (previously Japfest 2) and Japfest Motorsport Heroes.
  • Club Weekend Camping Ticket £28 - includes show entry and pre-show camping.
  • Club Advanced Show Ticket £18 - includes show entry.
  • We're also offering Early Bird Tracktime exclusively to clubs on the famous Silverstone National Circuit at just £30 per 20 minute session, saving £5 when booked before 31st January

When updating the list please put your username, ticket type wanted and when you have purchased. This lets us know how many we have attending.

Great cars, great people, just really cold...

I finally got round Silverstone even if I've now got loads more work to do... My turbos are definitely on the way out now... Definitely worth it, knew they weren't going to last much longer, and apart from the turbo seal smoke, the zed behaved alot better then I expected, slicktops Ftw...

First thing to say is a big thank you from all the 300Zx.co.uk members to 370Ad/Adam for his part in organizing this brilliant event for us.

As a fairly small club ourselves we benefit greatly from this association with other Z related clubs.

The location of our pitch was briliant.:thumbup1:

Sadly for Adam it wasnt the best of weekends as he couldnt bring his own 370Z as he had discovered a cracked wheel on the day before.

So on the first Z car session on track (session B) he was a passenger in his friend's black 350Z. That had a spin in to the wall on the pit straight and badly damaged the car. Fortunately they were both un injured.

For my part i enjoyed the event completely. Of all the UK venues Silversone is my personal favourite.

My car ran without fault all day and I gained a new level of confidence and (I think) competence round the National circuit.

Big thanks to Ian for the action pics of me on track:thumbup:

300ZX.co.uk had a good range of cars on display including 4 slicktops, three of which were on track.

As always there is never enough time to chat to everyone you see or meet.

Had a great time too... It was good to catch up with some and meet others for the first time. I watched Ash, Graham and Pete's track session which was great to see.

Silverstone was a great venue... Very well organised. I really liked how we had the full Z stand with a mix of all old and new.... Just wish it was a bit warmer! I suppose at least the rain kept away though:)

Are we having a stand at Japfest Rock?

Well said Pete. It's great to get young blood organising an event. We need younger members to step forward to carry on the organisation of these events involving the three great Z Clubs.

Whoops... So did I;)

I don't think I would take it on track tbh though.... With it being an auto I'd cook my brakes! I may take it on the drag straight at ten of the best.....

As Pete said great organisation of this event, should be more of them;) it was a great day and a great track to do,I followed Pete all the way round witch was a bad idea, you should see the state of my bonnet! Pete kicked up all the rubber marbles on nearly ever lap...lol but it was fun:) again thanks to everyone who made this happen.

It looked like a great even by the sound of things. I'd hope to make it on the stand next year if I'm not busy.

Them drifters have a lot to answer for!! rubber bits everywhere. all the way home I could here chunks of it being thrown off my tyres.

Agreed, Big Thanks to Adam/370Ad for organizing and advising all throughout. My first big event with the club and I loved it, I will have a go on track next time, I just wanted to get a feel for how it all works yesterday, come on COOPD, I have an auto but we can just take it steady mate, I wish now I had gone on track yesterday, it looked like a lot of fun man!

Haha, nope! For me, I've put too much work in to this car to risk the track. Maybe if I had a second track ready one but for this car its more like a future show car for me

Just out of interest.. Japfest 2 is coming up in June 25th for camping and 26th for the actual event.

Are we organising anything for this event?

It's being held at Rockingham circuit in Northamptonshire.

For those that couldn't attend the Silverstone event, it's another opportunity to gather the club together.

So do we have any plans to go or is someone wanting to arrange something for the club?

Maybe we can gather a larger group this time round?

So, who's up for it???

I'm potentially up for it.... I wasn't going too but I did enjoy this. Should also be warmer in June!

I would have but my son and I are catching carp in France that week mate, next time :-)

Lol.. Going on track is fine unless you left your brain in the fridge before going out there..

It'll be interesting to see how many will go. If we get enough for a stand.. I looked at zclub.net and can't find much about it.

I'll start a new thread and see how many we can get..

So if you're up for going to japfest 2 at Rockingham, add yourself to the list on the thread. Also state if you want camping.. June should be great for camping..

I'm already going to JF2 but would be great if we can get another club stand and really fill the place with zeds..

Tbh if we all planned and booked into the same session like some of us did this year, we'd all know to give space, (unlike some others on track) so would be safer, saw a few spins with the exception of the poor guy with 350z, they did no damage and had plenty of run off, tbh had the track not been stupidly slippery wouldn't have happened.

Exactly why I won't, tbh... Its others on the track that bother me. If someone else looses it they could take me as well....

Found a video of one of the Honda you guys were talking about, no regard for the racing line...I didn't even see the nsx going round... That gtr caught me though lol...[video=youtube_share;_-BMXx5iYAw]

And one small movie :) :

It was a massive car show, biggest one I was on in my live :) .

Too bad it was so cold, and most people hide into a cars or just go somewhere where it was warmer so there was no talking time at all :/ .

I left earlier because I was really tired and it was a long way home for me.

But it was awesome meet :)
