Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details

Hello All,

Some of you may be shocked at the title because yes Japfest has changed its venue from the Old faithful (Castle Combe) to the new shiny Silverstone.

Japfest-2016-location.jpg

Quite a few things have changed this year with the booking process, so please read the below instructions carefully. What will be staying the same is that we have a combined stand with the 350Z/370Z club and Z Club, so it should be a good turn out for the Z's.

New Self Service Booking System

Japfest have changed the way club bookings work this year, meaning that individual club members can book their own tickets and vehicle passes for the clubs stand. Please follow the following instructions for a successful transaction:

  • Club members must go to http://japfest.co.uk/club-info to book their tickets
  • Select your Club (Z Club) from the menu and enter the Club's Personal Password - 215.408
  • Proceed to select required tickets and place order - Make sure you choose 'Club Vehicle pass' to get on the club stand.
  • Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email as proof of payment

Club space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The deadline to book club tickets is Friday 18th March, subject to space availability.

If you have any difficulties, our club support helpline is available on 01959 543 724 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please call this number and do not PM me as I have no access this year.

Club Ticket Prices for 2016 Per Person

  • Club Early Bird Package £48 - includes show entry at Japfest and show entry and pre-show camping at Japfest Rock! (previously Japfest 2) and Japfest Motorsport Heroes.
  • Club Weekend Camping Ticket £28 - includes show entry and pre-show camping.
  • Club Advanced Show Ticket £18 - includes show entry.
  • We're also offering Early Bird Tracktime exclusively to clubs on the famous Silverstone National Circuit at just £30 per 20 minute session, saving £5 when booked before 31st January

When updating the list please put your username, ticket type wanted and when you have purchased. This lets us know how many we have attending.

You are welcome.

As you say its just going out to play and have some fun.

Good to see Kaned has signed up also. We can watch him as he is out just before us.

Lets hope Gray can get signed up soon .

I expect track time will be fully booked well before the day. The sessiona are not exclusive to Z/ZX cars. There will be a lot of Jap cars there on the day... more than Castle Combe I think.

Agreed Pete good to Kaned signed up as well he was out on track with us at Castle Coombe and we had some fun

D'oh.... How did I miss that?! I'm thinking of joining in this, just need to ask the wife if she wants in too

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

Do I understand there's no novice sessions left? I've not been on track before, so not sure if I should sign up for an intermediate.

There is only an advanced session in the "club " section of track slots left.

BUT there are NOVICE and INTERMEDIATE sesions available through " Public Track Time" on the Japfest site.

This morning availability is as follows...

Novice.

V 16.00

X 16.40

Y 17.00

Intermediate.

D 10.00

Q 14.20...Fully booked now.

U 15.40

That will change as days pass cos the same conversations we are all having on here are happening on all Jap Car clubs.

If you want to get on track then its probably best to act now while there is some choice left.

As far as the novice/intermediate choice its up to you. None of us know your car and its abilities or your personal driving abilities. So just do what you are comfortable with

The main idea is to enjoy yourself.

Edited by Slick Pete.

Cheers for that Pete, very useful. I think the only answer to those two questions is to be honest and say, I don't know. I've been told that fast on the road isn't particularly fast on the circuit, ie on track the pace is much higher. I'm a competent road driver, but I've never been on track. As far as the car goes, it's probably more competent than I am, since the work I did to it last winter I've haven't found "the line" again it seems to of pushed further north than I've been comfortable to push it on a public highway. I'm in no doubt the limiting factor will be me rather than the car at least at first.

Well just book that Q session and join the rest of us.

Silverstone is such a wide track you will have time and space to drive at your own pace. Keeping over to the left on the straights allows faster cars past in safety. indicating left lets people behind know you have seen them.

Its not a race and nobody is bothered how fast or not you are. Remember the rest of the cars/drivers out there are just Jap car enthusiasts like us who love and cherish their cars. Most will be driving to the track and want to be able to drive home afterwards.

I will get that sorted Pete. As you say some common sense is required and some curtosity. Tbh I'd rather be out on track with people from the club than everyone being strangers, even if it's just for feed back.

Exactly this. Its much nicer to the with a group of Z's than having some limiter bashing Civic trying to overtake all session.
