I know this is a polarising mod but I am fitting a NA rear end to my car.

A lot of the appeal is the opportunity to hammerite and re bush the back end with it on the floor, not on the car. The gearing thing is a nice extra for me, but the weight saving should be great.

I already have the back end, I would like some advice and guidance for the other bits I'll need.

I will get my one piece prop modified to fit.

I think I will get upper camber arms but keep all the others stock.

I don't want to ruin my NVH and shake my teeth out. So which bushes should I go for?

I am happy to just loop the PS back to the TT resivoir.

New wheel bearings too.

Have I missed anything and which bits from where do people reccomend?

Cheers guys :)

When you take your old bushes out, feel free to pop here and remove the ones in my spare TT subframe as well! :thumbup1:

Scrabble City awaits your arrival, Tom.....

Whiteline bushes are my recommendation.

Have you used them and experienced the NVH caused from installing them. It is my understanding the only "performance" bushings that do not affect NVH (particularly on the rear) are the NISMO ones. All polyurethane replacements that I know of are said to have a drastically negative affect on NVH.

Apologies. I was referring to the whiteline subframe bushes. Should have been clearer.

They aren't polybush. They're more like an OEM replacement just slightly stiffer.

Energy suspension diff bushes .you will need rear toe arms may as well get adjustable ones . New rear drop links and bushes /tt rear anti roll bar with bushes . Rear hub bushes .

NVH ?? :confused1:

Noise Vibration & Harshness ;)

Hi, here is my experience.

I fitted Energy Suspension bushes to the complete rear and front end on my TT and I found it really tight and firm although there was a lot of road noise being transmitted into the car from the rear and to honest I thought I had ruined the drive from a cabin noise perspective. The handling was really transformed but the noise was ruining the drive for me. I later upgraded to a NA sub frame and diff and transferred all my Energy suspension bushes over to the new rear end. I did not replace the 4 OEM sub frame bushes as they looked very new and also a bugger to remove. Any way having retained the 4 OEM sub frame bushes I was happy as it made a world of difference to the noise factor and still had handling like it was on rails.

They're in a subframe ready to go on the car. Just haven't had the chance to do the rear end work.

I did an awful lot of research prior to purchase which is why I went for them instead of ES polybush ones.

Which WL bushes did you go for (part#)? When I did some research on them a while back, there were two types made by WL

which could be used in the Z32 application.

As far as I can tell the WL bushes are the nearest in compliance to the OEM bushes currently available (other than buying a

complete new subframe).

These ones (I think). I'm in Aberdeen at the moment so can't check my receipts folder to confirm.

Benefit of these when fitting is that you don't need to save the oem collars. You just remove all the old shell, clean, and fit these.

I wasn't looking for an increase over oem performance. Mine were completely shot so anything was going to be better.

Thanks. FYI - this the post on TT.net that sums up the latest info I have. It would seem that the W92477 bushes may

have issues with fitment.

Great help guys thank you.

It's interesting that the majority of the NVH will come from the 4 subframe bushes. I am more keen to polybush the rest now, leaving the big 4 OEM or Whiteline.

I already have stillen ARBs front and back. I also have gone a bit mad with Dynamat Extreme in my car so may get away with some of this.

What do people reccomend as Diff bushes. Will they cause harshness.

I am wary about getting all the adjustable arms. Zed racer had to spend a fortune getting his aligned after he fit them and I have heard the solid links can wear on the road.

Yeah I read that prior to purchase but went for it anyway. I got them for a good price from Clark Motorsport so worth the risk.

I'm hoping to get time to complete the subframe swap in the coming months, until then I won't know if there's an issue.

What I can do is measure them when I'm home next week and compare them to OEM?

So are Nismo bushes still available for the rear subframe then?

With the exception of the subframe bushes, they rest are available from Japan (and possibly some from the US).

Nismo part#s here:

So no subframe bushes then? :(

I take that to mean that anyone refurbing a subframe has no option but to use polybushes of some description... unless the OEM bushes are still available...?

The four subframe bushes are not available as OEM (unless you get a new subframe from Nissan). So you have a choice

of polybushes, rubber (only from Whiteline afik) or solid (delrin or metal). There is also an option of retaining the (possibly

worn out) OEM subframe bushes and using bushing collars.

I don't know what all the fuss is about fitting polybushes to rear subframe or any hub or arm bush . I've had 3 s13 200sx before the zed and changed all bushes to poly with no more noise the the standard bushes . I'm sure all the harshness and noise is transmited from solid alloy bushes and rose jointed bearing arms . I'm some cases the standard Nissan bushes in the rear hubs are actually tighter and have less movement than poly bushes .All the Nissan standard bushes are very tight with very little movement when new .just 20 years of use cause splitting and rubber fatigue .

Tell me more about the collars please. Pros and cons.

I've had a nose around the Net and, as always, there are differing opinions on using them...

I don't have an opinion on them from a performance point of view. However to me they feel a

bit of a half way house to doing the job properly using replacement bushes, but I could be wrong.

I would be interested to hear from someone who has had first hand experience with them.
