The lever will not effectively open the boot, when you pull the lever it just wont unlatch unless you have one person lifting the boost and the other pulling the boot. I guessed that the wire was just not taught enough to pull the latch open but i took apart the lach and but a bolt spacer on the wire so it would act tighter, but it still didn't fix it. Has anyone had this issue and if so how to fix? i did have a look at the lever side but i was not in the position to lift up the carpet to just fix one lever. It's ok i can just use the key to open the boot but not ideal.

This is a common issue but lucky a real easy one to fix, the tailgate needs holding down a bit tighter by the lock so when you pull the lever it pops up so releasing the latch. So you need to adjust the lock by removing the plastic cover inside the boot, the section between the two lights, this has two large plastic screw fixings, under this you will see the lock has three fixings, take a 10mm spanner and slacken them off, push the assembly down a bit and tighten up,screw the plastic cover back and close the lid and the lever should work fine then.

Thanks Jeff, i know how to get to the latch lol but thanks for the step by step, so basically just move the latch a little lower down.

Yes, also be careful that there is voltage on the catch, it acts as the boot light on/off button, nothing to give you a bolt, but may get a little spark if you loosen the nuts too much and move it (metal to metal), just incase you are wondering why it did it when it does

I know i found it, i unplug it before i slide the catch out.

Get some new tailgate boot bumpers too. If they're old they'll be hard and compressed. It will aid the boot-popping process but also stop the tailgate from rattling around.
