Hi

I am about to purchase a Nissan 300zx but people have told me to buy it direct from japan using a website called "futurautos". Is it alot cheaper doing this and if so can anyone give me some advice!!

I dont like the idea of paying for a car that I havnt seen!!!

Thanks very much

Tom

i would never buy anything i hadnt seen, driven or tested, u must be a gambler, i would rather pay more for something i could test up to you tho ??

The cars are given a grade from 1 to 5. 5 being show room contidion and 1 being a rust pile.

All you can do is trust the people who grade them. However on the importers defence, most do offer warrenty with the cars, and a lot offer full money back if you can justify giving it back and I think the car not working is good enough if that ever does happen. :D

You are best taking to the company. If you are told the car is a grade 4 which is still very good, no rust with a few stone chips in regualtion with the age of the car, and you get it and its nothing like that, I am sure that the importers wont be too happy either so its in their best interest to get it sorted too.

Ask them what their policies are.

Cheers,

See this company do offer a full money back garentee if you are not 100% sattisfied and they will also ask you what grade you want. Its still abit of a gamble at the end of the day but the recon they could get a good 1995 convertable Z32 for £7000!!

maybe you should look for one that has been over here for a couple of years, any probs should have been sorted out and theres a good selection in the auto trader if your willing to travel. Thats what I did and Im very happy with mine, got a bargain aswell! so far! fingers crossed...........

Yep, after a couple of years in the UK weather they should be starting so show the signs of the British climate, not to mention the fact that it's probabally been thrashed, delimited and modded.

My advise, if you want a good start would be to go for an import. Insurance will be higher but purchase price will be lower than a UK car, its a trade off - it's entirely up to you.

Nothing wrong with buying direct or in fact unseen. I spent so long looking for a good Zed in the UK that I eventually gave up and bought one on the basis of a description and 3 Jap auction photographs.

Well, 18 months and 26K miles later I'm still happy, I dealt with http://www.northwestimports.co.uk and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Yes, I paid up front, yes, I was very worried. Yes I am still pleased with my choice.

Better still buy a UK car...mines up for sale...UK TT in Black metallic

Just spent around £2000 on it getting it "pukka"...

Chris:)

Chris,

Could you supply some details, please?

What's the spec?

CheerZ,

John.
