First post! Welcome to the forum. I have my insurance with Lynbrook, costs me peanuts and you should get yours on a classic policy no problem.

Thanks for the tip, looks good! Trying the usual sites and its putting me off buying the zed! Hopefully get a sensible quote tomorrow, thanks again mate.

Forget regular insurance companies on old cars. Specialist brokers always offer the best deals. I am sure you'll get a decent quote. I pay around £300 a year.

I'm 29, mines £350 a year with footman James on a classic policy. Limited to 5k miles. It was cheaper but there's a few mods on my car these days.

Thanks guys, I guess I declare Gas? (zenon???) headlight mods and after market alloys when getting a quote?

I wouldn't bother declaring it.. If it's on the car when you buy it, you wouldn't know would you? Lol.. I'm fairly certain that these mods don't change the performance apart from improving traction and not having to take a torch with you in the dark!

I got my insurance through Adrian flux. If you insure your Z with a classic policy then your no claims isn't needed. If you insure both your cars with them they will mirror your no claims for both cars..

Thanks for the notice, I managed to get a great deal with Footman James and yep, its not a problem with the upgrades at all. I was amazed at the difference between a commercial insurance quote and a specialist, its massive, ranging from 785 to 180 quid! All done now anyway!

I was quite shocked at the difference too. I was insuring my nissan xtrail 2.2 turbo diesel on a multicar policy with my wife's car and was paying 700 a year for mine. The xtrail is a 136bhp donkey but i can insure a 300bhp supercar for less than half the price? Even the mileage is the same!

Adding to the point that the Z is my everyday car at present too. Insurance is definitely legalised robbery..

If I'd known how cheap I could've insured the Z before I'd have got one much sooner..
