the oil and water would still flow through, but it wouldn't spin !

yes it would stop, but the airflow goes all ****ed and you create a massive vacume of space (unused area) where air comes back from the other side. (i dont even understand what im saying lmao) the airflow into the engine is not very accurate then as you are bypassing a section that intricate in the design of the entire motor.

I am ofcourse only messing lol, you could if you was really determined sort it out ! but why bother, if you don't want a turbo then buy an N/A and when you are more used to the power and driveability of the zed then pay the extra and swap it for a tt. or just go and buy a tt and scare yourself, thats what I'd do !

and how would you do that exactly?? without removing the turbo?? hmmm??

the turbo bolts onto the manifold, the gasses flow past into the downpipes. how would you re route the gasses?

this im interested to hear ;)

For your first Zed on P Plates you will need this list of items

1) A millionaires bank balance.

2) A sugar mummy

3) An Insurance company that wont laugh at you and tell you to come back when you have at least three yrs no claims discount

4) A lot of cool when you first arse it sideways into a lampost or other item of street funiture.

Not saying you are a shite driver mate, but I would get a little experience in road craft first....and learn some good IAM skills or something similar.

If you get one....fair play...enjoy...but RESPECT the power you have on tap.

Chris :D

Ok Ok OK You al have proved to me that a TT is not a good idea so i am going with the No-turbo and i think that i should be alright in that as it has the same amount of power as my current car a mitsubishi magna sports so now if any one know's where i can get a good non-turbo manaul 4 seater in gun metal grey please let me know

Shortty - first... thankyou for listening to advice - you'd be surprised how many people don't..

Secondly - enjoy the NA.. And look on the bright side, you'll have a gorgeous looking car... :) And just treat the rear end with respect and you'll be ok...

jesus, this has to be the most ridiculous lot of tat i have ever read sorry but it is, to be fair it started off daft so what could u expect, so why dont u go and buy the tt, then go to B&Q and get one of their nissan 300 zx tt turbo on off switches, a real bargain at £3.99 then inform your insurance co that u have turned them off till u r off your "p"s at which point u can turn them on again, pay full premium and bingo full power job sorted

I feel we have lowered the tone...!:(

Indeed!!!

Helpful advice and constructive criticism is one thing, out and out insulting behaviour is quite another.

As a wise man once said "let he who is without sin" ...etc

I can tell you, I have had many more daft questions about my Zed. I didn`t even know the turbos were non-sequential until Jeff told me about 7 weeks back:eek:

As the Master once said;

"Grasshopper you must first learn to walk and when you have achieved that, then you may try to run!"

F.T.

Or as was told me by me father:

"the man that makes no mistakes does nothing at all"

I`m learning daily I tell you

(ain`t driven the Zed in frost or snow yet....I got an import auto so I think the old HOLD toggle will be selected.....still brickin` myself though!)

"Use the FORCE"jenbstevieb(why cant you be called Luke,It would sound much better!!)

F.T.

Nah, no apologies (on may account anyways)

Just get a little too sensitive when I realise exactly how much I didn`t know when getting the Zed. Damn good job I had a decent tecchie with me or else I`d have probalby ended up with an NA and not known the difference....

Don`t laugh, I`m serious here!

So now that i am going to get a non-turbo would i be able to put turbo's on it later or would there be to much strain on the engine seen as it hadde'nt ran turbo's before.

Thanks

This has been bought many many times before & the simple answer is just to buy a TT. For the costs involved in the conversion it's the cheaper route to take.

Just read this - the NA -> TT faq

Jay

I cant believe all this, my lad has just turned 17 and im looking for a mini for him and hes well chuffed something he can work and learn on and better still can live to insure!

There is no way i would let him loose or insure him on the z,i just dont understand some parents!!

Ok moan over

1989 jap tt, stillen induction ,mongoose, enkei wheels,

This thread just about sums up the type of person who is now buying 300ZX's:D

Buy an NA 300 and fit neon washer nozzles....but don't tell the insurance company, that they will give you another 50hp!!:D:D

A 4 wheel drive Mitsu GTO would be a safer bet....but don't say I told you so :D :p

My first car was an S reg (old S!) Austin Allegro 1100S.. Same A series engine as the late series mini's and metros..

I had an asbolute WHALE of a time in that car, slinging it about.. Top fun..

Kinda reminds me of the guy who bought his 19 y/o son a 911.. Said son then mowed down three OAP's when he lost it.. :(

Bwahahha GTO's are all driven by old men, WTF are you thinking?

EXACTLY!...I include myself in that category.:D I expect you wear a baseball cap at a "jaunty" angle and are deeply into illuminated washer nozzles too:rolleyes:

At this rate the demise of the once great Nissan 300ZX as a serious GT car will come much sooner....rather than later :(
