With my slicktop going into storage yesterday, I've been gathering bits together and planning for when it comes back out,

ordered myself some 99 spec parts at work, got a new front bumper and all 3 tail lights on order, the bumper turned, and so did the centre and the passenger tail light, the drivers is coming from Japan, but now their all showing Japan back order,

Just a heads up to people it could be a sign they are running out,

Wow Japan back order, hope it arrives and doesn't become NLA!

I assume they let you have stuff at cost?

Back order can just mean awaiting delivery from their supplier, it when you get the "no longer available" reply its time to worry, saying that there is stock in the US, when ordering from UK Nissan dealers they have a storage warehouse in Lutterworth then Holland and finally Nissan Japan, at no time will they try US dealers.

Surely that's good news.......innit, hehe :devil2::devil2:.

Plenty still left in North America. There's a demand for them there, so there will be some stock piled, even though it was never fitted to any USDM vehicle. There is still a global demand for them, so we are unlikely to see an end to them for a while, similar goes for the 99-spec rear lights.

Just seen it all recently, being the longest established dealer, we see loads of older cars, just following the pattern once they go Japan normally means they'll be nla soon, doubt they will be making new ones. Even more common Nissan are starting to have a large number of nla parts from that era

Yeah it's direct from Nissan, and I pay cost hehe..

I know how parts departments work, I worked in one for Chrysler Jeep for 11 years. A lot of the older stuff we ordered went to NLA, and often it would show as B/O then finally they'd change their minds and withdraw it from sale!

I'm not doubting that numbers of parts are going NLA and it's increasing at an alarming rate, but certain highly popular items are likely to remain for a while yet.

I think the next things that will get the cull will be things like roof trims and scuttle panels.

Been hacked to fit the fmic, and I'm going back to side mounts. Few scratches on the bottom, and sides were it mounts need attention, might sell it on, or keep it as a spare

Ok that sounds ok. If you decide to part, please let me know.

How much do these go for these days?

New? Second hand? Condition... Importing a brand new one isn't very cheap. Doubt you'd get much change out of 500, plus the indicators etc. Second hand for a good condition one 3-350. One that needs repair, hard to say, cheaper depending on the damage really.
