The cruise control has never worked on my car. It has been converted from auto to manual prior to me buying it. I've only checked the fuse so far. I wondered if it might just be a case of bridging the wires that go to the auto ecu? Or maybe someone has some other suggestions?

My reverse light doesn't work either, and I wondered if this might be related?

Sounds like you've got some switches missing. Clutch switch probably isn't there....

I wondered about that Si, but being as it was an auto, I assumed it would work without a clutch switch.

Check the 10amp fuse for cruise as it shares a fuse with reverse.

I noticed that they shared a fuse on another thread and that's what made me decide to try and fix it. The fuse was blown originally and I've now replaced it. I still haven't got working reverse lights, but the green cruise control light now illuminates when the button on the side pod is switched on. I've still got no cruise control though.

Might be some stupid questions her but I'll ask them anyway. Have you checked the all the parts are there, and connected... Cruise has a separate ecu, the the actual cruise control bits under the bonnet and the cable that goes under the plenum cover.... And that it in properly

All looks to be present and correct under the bonnet. I haven't properly investigated yet, so I don't even know if the ecu is there. I've just been trying to educate myself tonight, I'll look at the ecu tomorrow and get the multimeter out. So not stupid questions at all!

It turns out I'm missing the brake kill switch. I temporarily bypassed it, just to check and the cruise control worked fine. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Many manuals come without cruise and hence the brake pedal does not have the switch or the mounting thread for it, for this reason its best to use the auto brake pedal and cut the foot pedal section to accept the smaller rubber foot pad and thus retaining the brake kill switch.
