Hi all, I'm on here under my partners alias he uses on another owners club. I'm lisa by the way!

We have just had a second child and I got rid of my ST to buy an S-max for the kids so he could keep his impreza RA.

He has always loved these cars and he would love to own one so what I have done is told him I want an X5 as I don't like the S-max and he has to sell the RA to fund it....

In reality I'm trying to get him to sell it so he can have one of these, I love my S-max titanium!!

Anyway, I have seen one on here and have asked about it but incase I can't have it does anyone know anything about one on autotrader that's got a 'racing engine' that's 390-500 bhp?

Thankyou very much everyone x

I think the general consensus on that one is it's in no way a "racing engine", but iirc it looked like a decent car otherwise.

390bhp - 500bhp? My god - is that the seller's estimate? That's hilarious; wildly different figures. For starters, the engine still has its stock (pattern) radiator, it doesn't even appear to have a boost controller in it.

It looks fairly clean and quite nice apart from the horrible stripes on it. It is an auto also, so £7,500 on what (is on the surface) a fairly stock TT auto is over priced, there's absolutely no specification on the car.

It is being sold by a trader, so you can't expect them to have the first clue about the car.

Spectre's Zed would be a good buy for someone - he's put a lot of time and work into that car since buying it last year.

Wow thankyou all!!

That was quick!

I have enquired about one on here and I'm hoping I can have it. I also seen a red one on ebay and I rang him then found 4 pages of posts here about it. He told me it is definitely 550bhp and it done 202mph on an aerodrome but it's only 375bhp now because his mechanic has turned the car down on the turbos??

I know a little bit but that's too technical for me and after what I read here it's rubbish then

Umm the guy said it's a nismo Z32?

I've looked at that one here but hoping to have a grey and black one I've asked about. The owner is waiting on selling his GTO? that's a mitsubishi right? X

There is no Nismo Z32. Unknowledgeable or untrustworthy seller - you'd be a lot safer buying one from here or Japan.

People are so full o'shite! lol

No such thing as a Nismo Z32. Yes, GTO would be the Shitsubishi.

Haha you guys are funny!

I do like the one I've asked about on here, I'm sure my other half would love it.

I know he did say he doesn't want a standard one, by that he means power lol x

Tell Keith to go for one in good condition then he can add the power later. :)

That's a good idea but is it easier to get a car that's all done?? And I don't want him to know until it's time to pick one up x

It can be but the bigger the power the more problems you are likely to have. I know a lot of members want big power but if you keep it standard or make slight upgrades then the engine will last longer and you will enjoy in longer. If it keeps breaking down then you will end up hating it. IMO.

You're at the mercy of the person who's carried out the modifications - there are still plenty of bodged Z32s around. If you can find a legit vehicle that has proven history through a reputable garage/mechanic, then absolutely, look at it, but those high quality vehicles that have had lots invested into tend to be kept hold of. Doesn't mean to say they're about, but generally, you'd be advised to take power and build claims with a pinch of salt unless you have viable history and a dyno printout. Estimates are fairly useless...ie the '390-500hp' one from about.

Cars that are for sale on this site are generally ones to look at, as either they're fresh imports or the history can be traced.

Personally, I'd look at getting a good base to work with unless you find an awesome machine on here. A fresh-import is generally the best route to go for.

Hi and welcome Lisa.....

......And what Gary said....:clover:

Hi thanks!! I'm trying to do this without my other half finding out! Although he may be upset when his impreza goes I know he'll love one of these.

I am also interested in the car that Oscar is selling, he would like that one too! How do I message Oscar to ask about it? X
